Zdrastvouitié ! Hi all, Bonjour tous le monde,

Gratz to all the team of this website looking very pro and intelligent contributors.
It's so well done that it help me greatly to improvise a trip in Moscow in end of May , just have to wait this damn visa...

I just miss more information about "bad places" to avoid in Moscow.
Yourself (said in http://waytorussia.net/WhatIsRussia/MythsAndTruth.html) :
"keep away from the "bad" places"...
So what places to avoid especially and when ?
Is there any famous Skin Head Nest ?

I don't want offend anyone... myself I live in Paris, I would have for you full list of advice to avoid rip-off and pickpocket if you come someday ...
I traveled a lot, know and visited many major city of different country
(LA, London, NY, Sao Paulo, Thailand, Paris) and know that such place always exists unfortunately... hopefully good sense and acting normally allow avoid most of trouble... but you never know all specific and local "tips"...

For example :
Paris is great most of time, just be careful when riding suburb train of 93 or 95 especially if looking wealthy and after 21h00 ...

What have I to take care about and be cautious, apart not show off with cameras ? Wink...

By the way, I am French but look like chinese/japanese ! because be mixed french and thai...
Western europeans are quite aware about trouble for being black people in Moscow ... Evil or Very Mad
But what about asian looking people in Moscow ? I found nothing about it.
Does it means that Moscow people are used to see asian face because Federations ? Wink
I wonder the "clichés" (stereotype) of Moscow people have about chinese and japanese people ...

Spassiba !

I do not know any especially bad places in Moscow, but I know that it may be dangerous in the cities just outside of Moscow and in suburban trains - elektrichka - during the evening or night. If you stay in the center, everything should be ok. Regarding Moscow areas, I wouldn't recommend you to go to south-east and south suburb areas, because I heard about some problems there (not for foreigners though).

If you are afraid of skinheads, try to avoid places like heavy music shops and markets. Also, try to avoid empty streets and empty metro trains. Also, Arbat street in the night may be slightly dangerous, especially the dark side lanes. Otherwise, center is quite safe, especially the area around Tverskaya street.

Russian people are used to see people of Asian origins, but it's better to be cautious anyway -- there are a few fools around, unfortunately.

Hope this helps.
