Hi, I am trying to find out the name of a pink church in St Petersburg. It is almost circular in shape when seen from the front and looks like a whitre and pink wedding cake.
I believe it is on the way from the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad to Nevsky Prospeckt.
I was so careless not to ask my local guide for the name.
Can anyone help?

Let me try and describe it from memory.

The Church is pink withr white strips running vertically down around the circular building.
There is a circular window on top of the door, and I believe there are 3 "towers".
It is an active church as there was a service running when I visited and it sits on land that is not turfed.

It looks very different from the normal orthodox church. Circular in shape with no external columns seen.

I think it should be south or west of St Pete's.

Many thanks!

Oh, I know what you mean. I saw this church on a photo and I would like to visit the church too, but I can't find its location and name despite the fact that I live in SPb Confused

Chesma Church, it's red and white and it's on Ul. Lensoveta 12 near Moskovskaya Metro.

Is that what you're looking for.

Yes, that is it, the Chesma Church--pink and white wedding cake church.
Adoho, thank you so much for identifying it despite my not-so-good description. I never realised it was Gothic architecture.

GuideSpb, thanks for your help too, and now I have seen more churches that I wasn't able to when I was there.

Oleg, if the Chesma Church is what you wanted to see too, Adoho has written the address and it is near Moskovskaya Metro.

Yes, Chesma Church is what I tried to find. Thanks to Adoho. I pass the nearest area of Moskovskaya metro 5 days a week, but I have never been on Lensoveta st. Tomorrow I'll be there Smile

Hi. You won't believe me but I haven't been there yet. Sad Sometimes I don't have enough time to go to look at the church and sometimes I forget about it. Thank you for reminding. Smile I think I will go there next week.
