Hello!
I want to order a business invitation letter through this site, last year i ordered the tourist visa and i was very happy with the service and my trip to Russia was very nice as well! i have some questions.....my purpose is to live in Russia for a year and hopefully to apply for a temporary residence permit,so i am not going for business purpose
1. in the form there is a section (12) that ask company name and my position, but i guess i do not have to fill this out right? but in the embassy here in my country, will not ask me about my purpose of the visit, what should i say if they ask? or what should i write in the visa form? the name of the travel agency that issues the invitation letter as the company name?
2. The address in Russia you ask in question (5) is the address where i will be staying with my friends right?
I am a little confused, i hope you can clear this up for me.
Regards. |

1. It depends. Sometimes when you order a business visa they will make up a reason why you are going to Russia which you should know in case you are questioned at the consulate. Whether you get questioned or not depends on what country you are in. If you are in an English-speaking or European country it almost certainly won't happen but it can happen in the former Soviet countries. Usually writing self-employed is enough. Ask when you order your visa support and you will be told all you need to know. Ultimately it's just a formality, but it helps to at least pretend that things are being done properly.
2. It's better to write the address of the company that is inviting you to Russia. You will find this on your visa support documents. |

| Sorry, I was thinking of the question on the migration card that asks for your address in Russia. Just leave Question 5 blank on that form you are filling out. It's easier that way. |

Maybe things have changed, but I wasn't asked anything about my work when I passed through customs.....the agency providing the invitation filled out my missing spaces. I guess I was working for "XXXX tourist agency?"
At any rate, this particular visa was rather helpful in Saint Petersburg when the Baba's said I was a "tourist and must pay toursist prices." My friends showed my business visa on more than one occasion, and I was granted "local" entry fees.
(Funny.....thought I was gonna see a fight between my female friend and baba at Marinski over it.....my money was on baba!) |
