Atomcat, I think it has something to do with the language. If you ask me in English whether I'm happy, I will say Yes. If you ask me the same thing in Russian it will seem like too big a word, and I will most probably say No. To be happy in Russian is something you would have at a certain moment, not constantly throughout your life.

Also, when a reporter comes up to you on the street and asks you this question, if you are a real Russian you will think "How can I take advantage of this situation?", so you will say "No", to check what this guy can offer you to make you happier. (Joking Smile )

Oh, yes, and another thing: MosNews recently publishes a lot of negative articles about Russia and this really sucks. A year ago we had headlines from Gazeta.Ru on the front page of our site, but they were always so negative, we decided to take them away. Later I learned that Gazeta.Ru is owned by Yukos, so I guess you know what that means. MosNews also has an office in Yukos headquarters, and even though I don't want to think this way, it seems like recently somebody told them to be negative in their coverage and they are doing their best. Or maybe it's just journalists, who were trained in Gazeta.Ru and then they moved to MosNews -- I don't know. The only thing I want to ask you is not to read MosNews only, because they are a bit too much -- there are also many good things happening in Russia, but there are no news websites that would publish it -- only Russian-language ones.
