We're planning a trip to Russia for very late December or early January. As the first week of January is full of holidays, is it a good time to be in Moscow or will I find many things shut down? The initial thought was to be in the country for the new year. The second thought was that if many things are closed, it may not be as fun. Any advice is appreciated. Don't warn us about the cold....we're from high in the Colorado mountains and not afraid of that!

Thanks!
Robert

I think the last phrase is right. The first week in January is like a dead week, almost all shut down.

True, there are Russian holidays galore during that time. Maybe better to come a bit later in the winter. If you're not afraid of the cold....try February. Shocked
