Hey,
I was wondering, do many russians go on vacation? And if they do, where are their favorite places to go? Also, do they enjoy alot of outdoor activities? Do they ever go camping? Very Happy Please post your thoughts on the subject.

Russians who have the money go on vacations to the Black Sea, Turkey, Israel, and parts of Europe. Israel is a very popular place with the Russians, and many live there. The Black Sea area has been popular for many years. During the cold war time the government would give vacations there complete with food, and accomidation vouchers. As for outdoor activities, I can only tell you about the people I know, and most everyone of them love the outdoors especially after a long winter. During the mushroom season my friends will pack their tents, food, and water to last them for maybe two weeks camping while they harvest mushrooms, and wild berries. Some I know enjoy camping on the beachs around the Gulf of Finland. There is a Powwow, Native American style, once a year in the St.Petersburg district which last for one week during July complete with lodges (Teepees), from 25 to 200 of them depending on the yearly attendence. I have attended this Powwow twice, and met people from as far away as Amsterdam, Germany, and Sweden. I was the only American there. I have met people there who are avid scuba divers, parachutist, and bikers (motorcycles). Fishing is also a very big thing for my friends. So, I believe that the Russian people love the outdoors as much as most of us do if you would judge by my friends, and family.
