I'm in Abu Dhabi UAE , and have US passport. I went to consulate to get visa to got to Sochi and was told it would take 10 days to process through Moscow because I was going to the southern part of Russia. This delays my departure by at least 1 day and I'm wondering how likely it is that in 10 days I will actually have the visa. I will have to pay 100 USD to change my plane ticket now no matter what and I'll have to change the departure date before I know for sure if I have gotten visa or not. Do these tourist visa requests normally get approved?

I have a tourist visa from an agency that has an office in london and moscow. They offer a fast registration service where you go to their partner agency in moscow who registers your visa straight away. I am now worried about this registration as it doesn't seem to tally with what is written on your website. Can you offer any advice? Pls reply today if possible.

You recommend a couple of days extra on top of the indended leave date. From my bad experience on one trip I would recommend an extra week. I was rushed to hospital the night before I was due to leave (Angarsk near Irkutsk) I had some emergency operation and spent 5 days in hospital (paid cash in dollars they didn't want to go through my insurance) Although I had my visa stamped by the local office allowing me to stay an extra 10 ten days and a letter from the hospital when I tried to fly from Moscow to London I was told NO!! It cost me $250 to the consular official at the airport to stamp my visa. I'd also recommend having the number of your nearest embassy.

Does anyone know how to find out about prices for Russian Visas for US citizens in Russia's Barcelona consulate?

I've tried calling them on a few of their numbers listed and of course no one answers, and I looked at their site and they list some general prices (in Spanish) and have some kind of price list for different citizens but it doesn't open.

Does anyone know how to find out about Russian visas in Spain or even different countries, and about how fast their normal and express service works?

This site is very helpful of course , but these kinds of details could help anyone who wants to get a visa, or in my case a new visa since I'm already in St. Petersburg.

anyone get a 1yr multi-entry business visa?

I'm being total that you need spravki from a narcologist that you don't do drugs, a dermatologist that you don't have tb and urologist that you don't have aids, syphilis etc. To make matters worse, they have to be from the relevant government "clinic" e.g. narkologicheskaya dispensariya, of which there is only one in each region, meaning you have to go 3 different places and of course they only work 9-5 (or 9-1) on weekdays. Also, you can only do it in your region.

For a while now, such rules have been on the books, but in reality you only needed the aids test. supposedly since 26 March they started implementing the letter of the law.

Anyone deal with this yet?

<edit> I left out one step: these spravki are strictly speaking necessary for the work permit. once you have the work permit, then you don't need anything for the visa.

Small update thinghy for people requiring a business visa in the Belgian consulate in Brussels.
You definately need the original invitation form!!! As I found out to my horror on Friday...Intelservice will now send it (for an extra 5O USD).
The consulate said that this has been in effect for quite some time and that the issuers (ie intelservice) should have known that.... Sad

And if you don't live in Belgium, which is also true in my case, you need a authorisation from the vice consul (which went OK as I could show the business side of my trip), as they normally only provide business visa's to residents of Belgium
Be prepared for extremely long lines of people trying to get in.
Staff doesn't speak English, French "reasonably" passable, no Dutch...
Not quite the friendliest Russians I've come across either Wink

Now hopefully next Friday morning all goes well as I've booked a flight for St.-Pete Friday afternoon.... Smile

I received my Multiple Entry Visa from the Consulate here in the US and I got all the aids test/communicable disease test just at a clinic. I sent the results in with the invitation which I got through WTR and the application and then 2 weeks later I received my visa hassle free and now I am good to go. Anyway you should have so many problems...good luck

How far in advance can I apply for a russia visa?

If I want to go to Russia in June 2008 for 12 days, How long in advance can I apply for my visa? Can I apply for my visa in April or March of 2008 at a Russian consulate, and use my visa in June of 2008?

In my country it's 90 days and I think that's a general rule everywhere. It's plenty of time.

Hi everyone!

My friend and I will travel to Russia-Moscow for the first time next week (7th to 14th Nov.)
We will visit a friend who is living there but we have booked our accommodation at a private apartment through a company that we found on the net. This company is willing to register our visas for a fee of 50€ (each, I guess).
Is this still normal or they just do it the old way because it's an easy way to make money?
If things have changed, can I convince them that I'm not supposed to pay any fee for the registration?
Can maybe our friend from Moscow go to a post office or police station and register us, as we were staying in her house?
Or lastly, shall we go to the hotel that we were told to go for registration? (Together with the visa we received also a voucher for "hotel belgrad")

Which is the best way?...

ok guys, I am indian citizen studying in Osh, Krygyzstan. I had studies 2 yrs in Volgograd, Russia and this year transferred to Kyrgyzs. My stuff is still there in Russia.

So my questions is, can waytorussia arrange for tourist visa for me? I want to get my stamped in Kyrgyzstan.

After exiting Russia on a single or multiple entry tourist visa, how long would I have to wait until I could apply for another visa? I can't seem to find anything on any embassy website that states this. All I can assume is that upon exiting I can apply for a new visa immediately.

I was considering travelling to mainland Russia (Moscow, St Petersburg etc), and then travelling to Kaliningrad on land via Lithuania or Poland or by flying Air Baltic anything from a month up to a year later.

Another option on my mind would be to enter through Finland, exit by overnight train from Moscow to Minsk, then head across to Vilnius and then to Kaliningrad from there, and apply for a multiple entry visa to do this.
However I still wanted to keep the option open of returning to Russia some time in the future.
