Hello,

Does anyone know the format of a ZAGS ceremony. Essentially what words need to be said, like in the west, repeat after me etc.

Many Thanks

I thought it was called ZAKS. I've no idea what's said at the ceremony.

GOOD LUCK

We married at ZAGS #4 in Moscow last year. The only word you need to say is "DA". Of course your fiancee or a witness will give you a hint at the right moment.

(Note: the witnesses have no legal role in Russia, but if you have guests it is useful anyway to ask one or two people for this honorary role, so they can help carrying the flowers Laughing )

I had an interpreter who translated the entire ceremony for me so I'd understand everything. Cost me a whopping 300 rubles! heheheh

It was worth it. Now my parents and the rest of the family can understand the ceremony (we had it professionally video-taped).

If you really need to know, I can pull out my DVD and write up a transcript. Wink
