Hi there,
My name is spaceward and I will be visiting Moscow in August. I won't have much time for sight seeing during my stay so I have to see as much as possible in a short space of time. I would like to know the "real" opening times of some well known sights, not the ones printed in some Tourist booklets (which aren't all the same anyway !!)I would like to visit Lenins Mausoleum, Novodochy Convent, Izmalovsky Park flea market, Khodinka Aviation Mueseum, St Basils Cathedral, Gorky Park, Also if anyone can tell me the cost for visiting these sights I would be grateful.
I will be getting about on the Metro, can I buy one pass for all journeys over a week or do I have to pay for each journey each day.
Any help with these questions would be very well received. Best regards to you all.

All sights pretty much open around 9/10ish am. Most are open every day except Lenin's Mausoleum - you'll have to check Red Square - if it's closed off, the tomb is open so just go for it!
Regarding the Metro, its best to get a week pass and an extremely cheap price - the service the Metro offers is superb!
Cheers! |

Affirmo, WTF is up with you making a post in every thread saying, "I agree with your argument?" Not trying to be a dick or anything, but one of my pet peeves is people making posts with absolutely nothing to add to the conversation, such as "I agree with that."
Just my two cents... |

Affirmo is not a real person.
It is a web robot that posts fake forum posts in order to get free advertising for a web site. That's why the URL is in large letters. |

Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
You suck, Affirmo! |

You can't get a week long pass, but you can get reduced prices if you buy cards for several trips. It's not huge savings (and it's not expensive to begin with; one ride anywhere costs 13 rubles or about 30 cents), but if you buy a ticket for 20-50 rides (valid for a month, I think) then it works out to be 9-12 rubles per trip.
Novodevichya Cemetery and Monastary (two separate entrances, both worth seeing) cost about 100 rubles each. I imagine that the other places are similarly priced (except for the flea market which is free unless you require car parking). |
