Is someone going to explain the changes on WTR or am I left to guess?
The Not Relevant folder has been deleted? Yes/No
All WTR posters have been banned? Where did everyone go?
Some mystery person named Gregory Klemm has written a bunch of blogs.
Are these the sum of the promised improvements in the website? One almost wishes for an Affirmo post.....anything...... |

I still see the Not Relevant folder here....
vitalsigns is in one of his silly little childish fits again, I would like to see him banned, frankly. And that little brainchild of PHolmes, Seryi06.
The Not Relevant folder has been upsetting a number of newcomers. It is a negative influence on the site.
I have not been briefed on this or any other changes we have suggeted to Dmitry, including the above.
Now, I don't like to refer to expat.ru, but try to imagine that forum with the Bardak section being the most popular section. I think we have been doing something wrong here... |

The 'Not Relevant' folder still exists, but it's inaccessible to anyone who isn't the Admin or a Mod. It doesn't matter, anyway - there's no activity, it's dead. The folder was axed from public view. Dimitri can correct me if I'm wrong.
Some bad developments were occuring in the Non-Relevant folder. It's been locked out since then. Other site members can give testimony to this . . . |

I see... well, looks like it gives us some space to sort things out.
I hardly think the Not Relevant folder will be missed by members who really have something useful or enjoyable to contribute to the site. |

After a severe privacy violation by one of our regulars, I have spoken with the mods that were online at that time about the Not Relevant folder and asked Dmitri to take a look at it.
Though most of us support the original idea behind an unmoderated folder and are in favour of free speech, we came to the conclusion that not only 'Not Relevant' became a place that facilitated nothing but trolling, but also that the initial idea may have been naive, as some trolls seem to manage to take their activities beyond this website and harm people in their personal lives.
We didn't ban anyone, we simply didn't want to provide a platform for this kind of behaviour any longer. Not relevant is still there, but only so that we can recover some potentially 'valuable' threads from it.
Talk Lounge is available for chatter and everyone who has something positive to contribute is welcome to post, as it has always been. |

Wasn't here like for ever. Can you tell me what happened? I got so sick of the Not Relevant that I simply had to leave it. |

You're one of the clear thinkers on here. Good for you. Do not worry your head about what happened. People need a break from all this stuff some time. Remember one thing: Dirt dries out and falls off. Some dirt just fell off. Do not miss it. |

Yeah right VS. Thanks for messing up all the other threads and your 'goodbye' deleted posts.
Any more trolling or preachy-trolling from you, that's it, we're kicking you out. That'll save you from deleting more posts. |

Media, I was never preachy-trolling. Those things I really meant.
I deleted my posts because of the inadequate replies to them from certain real trolls. Plus, it all happened in the Not Relevant. Anyway, I am not planning to post much if any, so you do not have to feel all upset. |

| I could care less about the not relavent thread, however there is definitely less activity now here on WTR. But it is nice and the site is more prductive. I just wish that these people who are trying to sell thier cell phones would not post here anymore. Also I see that all of us regulars to the NR post are definitely not posting much anymore |

Most of the activity was IN the Not Relevant thread, and as such it can be deemed 'not relevant' to the site. The main reason it existed was to facilitate a group of regulars. In turn they could also answer questions in other folders.
It didn't work out too well though lately and we believe the folder actually became counterproductive.
Most of these cellphone spammers are probably bots and several of them come from the same ip-ranges. Not much to be done about it, unless Dmitri wants to change the registration process, there are some plugins for phpBB that could prevent their automatic joining of WTR. |

Rick, not to flatter you or something, but you are the coolest person on this forum. Are you guys all like that up there in Holland? You seem to never lose your temper.
Anyway, I am so busy with maintaining my several websites that I have no time to post anymore (and you are all probably glad about it). Thanks for everything you all. Hope you'll all keep up making this forum better. I will check in from time to time but no posting from this dude anymore.
Take care! If in the US visit me! |

I can show you some people in Holland that are definitely ill-tempered and badly mannered. No problem, there are plenty of them.
Good luck with your sites. |
