I'm looking to visit St. Petersburg in April and was wondering if it makes better sense to rent an apartment or get a hotel room for the 10 days that I'll be there. I've read that the apartments can be a little cheaper and also a little more private and quiet. Is this true? Also, I remember from visiting Germany that guests have to be out of the hotel rooms at a certain time and I was wondering if this is also the case in Russia.

Thanks for your help.

Hotels in SPB are expensive or, if not expensive, crap.
So yes, always stay in apartments, there are a million websites offering rental apartments just try googling "apartment rental saint petersburg" !
There should be plenty of apartments on or around Nevsky Prospect which is the main street in SPB.
I have a friend who has run an apartment rental biz here for about 6 years and I will send u her email if you want to PM me (I would happily post the link to her site on here for everyones benefit, by the way, but not sure if that counts as spamming on this board!)
