Like everyone else, I too was little apprehensive, but all went off very well. The flight from Bombay was on time and we filled up our immigration cards in the plane itself. By the way they look exactly as shown in WTR!! We arrived in the First floor and walked to the ground floor Passport control, it was a very orderly queue. My clearance took about 10 minutes maybe because I had a private visa ! But then I was through with no questions, customs was a breeze, I went through the green channel as I had nothing to declare except some presents. Surprises at the Exit - there were very few so called aggressive Taxi drivers, I went to the Transit desk, who were quite helpful. For those of you who ask and worry about language there are signs and boards to help you. All the same, some knowledge of the language is helpful. I was transferred to SVO 1 in a minivan - warm and comfortable. SVO 1 was not so nice, but packed and crowded, I believe a new termonal is coming up! Even the departure hall at the ground floor is not good, but I suppose it will change soon. The Airport at Krasnodar is very neat and comfortable. I felt it was much better than SVO 1. Those of you who worry about changing money, you have enough options at the Airport itself. I feel most of the apprehensions are because not much is known Russia in general. One should follow the general rule of being careful and alert. I had no trouble from Police too. Return trip was uneventful too, except the Customs lady who was not sure why I had so little money on myself !! Overall a very nice trip and I should be going again next year.
