I am in the process of adopting a 13 yo girl from an orphanage in Nyagan and cannot find and info on transportation. I would prefer to travel by air due to time constraints. Does anyone know if one can fly to Nyagan or do I have to fly to Khanti-Mansiyski and then travel by land? Dennis F.

Dennis,
Your adoption agency is being generously paid by YOU to complete the adoption of Olga. They should be in communication with you regarding logistics. Please don't hesitate to advocate for yourself and Olga. Did you receive my post about FRUA?

Very Happy I know that the agency is supposed to take care of all the logistics. I haven't gotten off to a good start with our domestic coordinator. She likes to dribble the info out a little at a time so she remains important (this is according to some other people who know her personally) and it just drives me crazy. What agency did you use? Were you satisfied? Did they have everything prepared on your trip? Thanks again!

We went through Happy Families International, only beacuse that is the agency that contracted with our main agency Brightside. Were we satisfied? No. There were competent as well as incompetent people- just like everywhere! We found the agency to be over protective and had an arrangement for our housing and transportation with a swindler. We also were told the night before our court date that they did not think the adoption would be granted because of my disability. So they led us on in the beginning but in reality did not really know the laws applicable to a person with a disability adopting in Russia. Fortunately my husband is an attorney and we were able to advocate very strongly for ourselves. While everything did not go smoothly, the result- adoping our son was GOOD. The process is quite mysterious. I think the domestic side is not typically aware of the logistics that are arranged in Russia. Perhaps you can speak to someone in the agency who is familiar with the logistics upon your arrival.-
