It is similar to this one in the English language: Bud can be referring to Budweiser beer But Bud also happens to be part of the nick of one wild Canadian and can also mean a short name for "buddy"

You are so smart Spicey. Bud is also the pre flower and pre branch part of a plant. There are many other meanings, but I won't bore you with them, Bud.
