i don`t know which place is the best but i recommend Fabrique (www.fabrique.ru). there is house music. it is good and not expensive club with wide dancefloor. and people are nice there. some people say that there is strange face control, but i don`t think so.
My friends say that Opera is also good club, but i have never been there.
please, don`t visit "propaganda"  i don`t know why people like this club with small dancefloor and not great athmosphere.

There are a few country bars actually. I haven't been to those but my friend brought me to one of his old friend, who was the lead singer of Kukuruza, the Russian country western band. The concert was in a jazz club though but if you were looking for line dancing or waltzing that sorta thing, I haven't heard of it. |

Jo Jo: Moscow is a huge, wild city filled with people with lots of money to spend. The kind of dance clubs you can find in Moscow nowadays, you won't find anywhere, even in large cities in the US.
If you want to experience really good dance clubs, you should probably go to Moscow, not St Petersburg. |

Thanks Spicey, but I will probably go to St. Petersburg. I am sure there are some nice clubs there as well. Maybe if I have time I may go to Moscow for one night then fly out back to the states...  |

Have you chosen a particular airline to fly yet or is the choice based strictly on price of ticket? |
