Was it really necessary to respond to a months old thread with an off-topic post about New York?

Sorry, just joined & read the thread & was compelled to clear-up the erroneous notions of NY. The myth of NY is not as it actually is was all I was adding to the discussion

No, but many Russians have made their home mine for a while, splitting their food with me and expecting nothing back, which is impossible to find among US people. You'll say how are you and then turn your back, let alone open your house for someone and feed them.

anoki...you are so very wrong and clueless...not one of my friends nor I or my family operate in the fashion that you say. We usually go all out for our guests...and I know many russians and other foriegners, Americans etc who will attest to this.

To my knowledge, this is nonsense. While Russians are known to be very welcoming towards their guests, there are quite a few people there who are not welcoming at all (I lived there for over 20 years, so I know). You are biased and wrong.

Yes Spice...thanks for clarifying that...people are the same everywhere...good and bad in both places. I'm sure you have seen the same since being here...and I would assume that you are hospitable to all your guest going all out for them

I agree with surfguy and spicey, this statement is nonsense Anoki....you have no clue about Americans and what they are like....I am from the southern part of America and we are known for our southern hospitality here and we would open up our home to you even when you are wrong about us...I have never turned my back on anyone...and most of us don't expect anything in return either..

Anoki, why did you even went to States if you can't adapt into their culture? You can't walk on this planet thinking that you can rule everyone and expect that people will behave in the way you think is the best. You are going nowhere with that attitude. Maybe you are just going little bit over the edge with your interpretations? Just let others be as they are, and if they happen to be nice to you, then follow their example, if they are not nice to you, then don't think about them. Life is easier if you're not building up too many theories upon people's behaviour. People can be nice or mean to you, but all the same reasons for their actions might never be understod.

This perception of yours would drastically be altered if you actually spent time in my home, having dinner and socializing with my family, friends and myself included.

Zvehzda - you should invite him into his home and then put a huge cactus into his pants and make him sit on it... Smile

Laughing
Oh, I think that's far too hospitable. Anyway, the one from Valentine's Day shriveled up and passed away years ago.
