That is why I stand up for you Uday. Or are you are post op now?

Why do you make it so easy to bash you? It is not even fun anymore.
It is a nice thread about adopting so let us focus on that.

Atomcat, actually, at this moment LubaBog is working on writing a special Adoption Section for WayToRussia.Net and she is our representative in Vladimir and Golden Ring region since this October. Smile

I hope it will be online soon and it will be interesting to hear suggestions from all of you regarding what should be in this section.

I'm not sure if this topic was covered yet (and I'm too lazy to search) but I read recently that before one can adopt a Russian child, the authorities have to see if no Russian family will adopt it first. I assume this still applies so is this a long process? The source seemed to suggest it is a long time.

The other issue I wanted to address is why doesn't anyone talk about doing something about the problem in general?!? This sounds like an epidemic. Why are there so many orphans and what is being done about it?!? It's all nice and good to want to help or adopt but THERE'S A PROBLEM OF UNWANTED KIDS! Or the parents or parent (singular) is unable to care for the child. Everyone is getting the 'feelies' (i.e. feeling good about wanting to help or actually helping/doing by adopting or donating) yet the problem doesn't sound like it's going away. Are we/you all going to just adopt the problem away?

Don't women have planned parenthood programs? No birth control? What about the women, the mothers who have these children? What is being done about the whole picture here? Also, Just because kids are adopted, it doesn't mean the problem is over. As I understand it, a lot of kids grow up resenting the fact they were adopted and wonder about their birth parent(s). Not all the time but it's possible. I am concerned that besides the poor orphans, too many people neglect the root of the problem and that is not fair to the uncared-for children who pay the price.

This has been interesting. I agree with our great and understanding web site admin. respecting that we not turn this site into a quarrel forum He is right.... Its fine for people to play with each other, tongue in cheek etc. I agree that Uday is a character who enjoys provoking as Dennis suggests. And it is rather amusing to witness the dynamics between Uday and Atomcat. Though I respectfully agree with Dennis that all persons sooner or later get the family urge. I was brought up Christian too but have some problems with the philosophy that we should all be parents. I am not the best parent but I recognize that parents need to make sacrifices all the time for their kids.
On the topic of orphans I happen to take a more serious side than Uday. It is not that I feel superior in any way My experience has given me a closer look at the adoption situation in Russia. I can assure you that my personality, mindset etc . is not naive. I am a sensitive person but am very critical in nature. I am well aware of the beaurocracy involved in adopting Russian kids. Tracking down siblings that were abandoned prior or later to other siblings is a case for the best detective. Anyone is naive to think that this will be simple, efficient and without forking over lots of cash. Wish it weren't so.

Do you see it?
It is a white flag. I give up.
That thanks for the insults. Next time some insults you, I hope there is gentleman next to this person to agree with this insult. Maybe I have RAISED wrong and think that a lady should not be insulted. I am sorry that I came your defence when you get slandered. TRUST ME I WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN.

Poka
Later days.

Okay, now a serious question: cyndy, are you indeed a preop/postop tranny, or an authentic woman?

I've asked several friends of mine about their opinions on this subject, they said that there are both good and bad sides in this, but the very good thing about it is that those children will grow up loved...
