She express's the desire to visit me here in the USA. She got a tourist visa and has money to pay for a plane trip. My question is when she went to get her airline tickets (round trip) they told her she can not travel without $2500 in cash. She will be staying with me and I will be paying all of her expenses - she will stay in my home. I will take her to see all the tourist sites etc. Why does she need to bring so much cash ? If the US Embassy didn't care how much money he or she was bringing, why would a ticket agency? I have had friends visit me in the US in the past with no problems such as this. I would recommend finding a new place to buy the ticket.

Because its the embassy prerogative to decide how much money a person needs to enter the USA.

I hope she can get her tickets for our visit without any more problems. I wish I knew more and could find someone in Moscow who could help her.
