Anyway, it's like this. It seems obvious that the Putin regime is implementing a fascist regime and what this means, is regardless whether most forces of the opposition have ulterior motives in toppling the current government, Russia is being controlled by fascists and big money. Although, some of the oligarchs got away, don't you think Putin and his gang took their money?!? Come on. Who cares who's rated where in Forbes? Putin was a former KGB. He's secretive. He knows the game.

The problem is many in the opposition are probably opportunistic and greedy. The people want liberty and an honest regime or at least one that is not going to lean fascist or become a dictatorship. No one speaks for them since everyone has ulterior motives. However, I think a Putin Russia is no good. Unless you like fascism.

Are you okay in the head, mogsfan? Do you even know what fascism is? Fascism is when a cetain group in one country is exterminated, or targeted for extermination (like the Jews in Germany, Albanians in Yugoslavia, Tutsies in Rwanda, Kurds in Iraq, etc). Fascism is when one nation is put above all the rest by it's leader and proclaimed the "master race", as were the so-called "Aryans" in Nazi Germany. Neither is the case in Russia. In fact, Russia, with 140 nationalities living in it's borders, is the most multicultural country on Earth. Also, Putin, if you haven't noticed, resolved the "Chechen problem" quite effectively, by putting Ramzan Kadyrov in power there, his "infantryman" (as Kadyrov him self stated in an interview: "I am Putin's infantryman, I am with the President of Russia to the end!"). Now, Kadyrov's guys are slowly cleaning up the republic and getting it working again, and the Russian forces there only have to help out occasionally. That is a good thing however you put it. Also, did you know that since Putin, the birthrate in Russia rose by 19%, and the deathrate fell by 5%. No, I bet you didn't. I bet you were too busy bubbling on and on about "democracy, oooh, Putin is fascist! blah-blah-blah!", to know that the pensions are now going up by steady 5-6% each year. Putin did a whole lot more good for Russia then all you liberal-orange-cock-sucker ever will, so you need to STFU!

Only assholes like you who don't know squat about Russia can label it as "fascist"! Russia fought a bloody war on fascism, you ignorant high-school dropout! A war in which 30, 000, 000 of our people died. What the hell are you doing, calling us FASCIST! Russia is NOT fascist, you prick, you are!

Surfguy, where on earth did you pull this nonsense figure from?

actually I read an artcile last year that said he was worth an estimated 10 billion and then I just read another areticle that says he is worth now some where between 15 billion and 20 billion. And too there is Speculation that when he steps down from the presidency that he may head GAZPROM. Talk about rise from nothing to extreme wealth...and they say he is at odds with the Oligarchs? He is an Oligarch. In the late 1990's they said he was almost going to be a taxi driver...and look at him now. But I can say this...Smart Man...gotta give him credit. I will try and find the articles

You are right, surfguy. Putin is smart. You gotta be, if you ever want to make it inside the walls of Kremlin. And he's certainly NOT a fascist. He is a strong leader. A real Tsar. And that is what Russia needs. Not a "democratic" doormat like Yushenko in Ukraine.

Well I think Putin is a self serving person...but aren't they all. I think he does want to return Russia to Greatness. And I think that there is corruption done at all levels and that he is just as guilty as any of them...but this goes on all over the world and certainly here in my country. Here's an example...Senator Feinstein has benefitted some $750 million dollars off of Iraqi War Military/Government contracts approved by her that went to her Husband's Companies. So Just imagine how much personal wealth that Putin could a mass with him presiding over so many dealings. Bush, Clinton, Putin, Chirac, Shroeder, Lushenko, etc...etc...all these guys...it's big business...lots of corruption...lots of profiteering...etc...etc...been this way all through out history. And Nations are Businesses...National Interests are Business Interest. In my life though I don't have time to indulge in such activities...too busy riding waves, pursuing women, traveling, running my small business, and walking my dig...those guys can have the money and the power

I am overwhelmed! Shocked The way FSB and militsiya are treating Mari people are not very democratic, the words you can use to describe Russias relationship to its ethnic minorities are xenophobia, chauvinism, racism and persecution. And yes Mari is a small language if you compare it with the quantity of speakers of Russian, but still does it need to be vanished? Are Russians afraid of Mari people? And why if Mari is such a small nation as you'd consider it ?

BC...none of the world's leaders are mentioned on that list....the Queen of England is worth well over a billion dollars and she isn't on the list. Some of the assett's she has is priceless. Putin wasn't mentioned for a reason. The wealth to that he shares with is people who share power with him is estimated at close to 300 billion...combine that with an arsenal of nuclear war heads and you have one powerful individual. Throughout the past 100 years of Russian history...there has been a change of power from one hands to another that has come to those who possess the mightier sword and at the expense of the people. As I've said before it will be interesting to see how Russia developes

Apparently, you're the one who needs a shrink. If it's so great in Russia, why don't you go back there? Brain-washed Russians should just stay there if it's so great.

I guess democracy is alive and well in Russia when troopers are dragging people all over the street and hitting them with battons. Gee, I guess I didn't realize it was paradise over there with Putie.

Don't mind Mr. Russki, he's a brainwashed comrade. Americans are brainwashed, too. Canadians, Europeans, everyone is included. But, what is really sad is when there is video that is so obvious and tells you something concrete, yet you make excuses and even condone it (like Russki does). You have to be really sick in the head.

Putin is loved for increasing Russia's economy and wealth yet there are a lot of protests and Putin has seized control of television (aka the media). That sounds great. What can he do for an encore? What a great guy.

Having cops in full battle gear whipping people and dragging them around like meat has to be right up there with the best democratic regimes of all time.

What are you talking about? What are "Mari"? I never even heard of any "Mari". Seriously, which part of Russia do they even live in?

I can't speak for anyone but me, but Russia is in the news here almost every night. And the picture being painted isn't a rosy one. I'm not brainwashed. On the CBC was a cellphone video of people being tortured in Chechnya. We get the whole picture here, the bodies stuff in trunks of cars, people being beaten by police at rallies etc etc. I'm not confused about what Putin is doing in Russia.

Yes, please do find the articles because those figures are clearly untrue. Would be interesting to see who wrote them.

By the way, the Queen of England is not a billionaire:

The so-called "orange revolution", are a bunch of low-lives that criminally overthrew the constitutional government of my father's home country, the Ukraine, and put idiot Yushenko in power there, which in turn almost broke the country apart, and is still a big problem there.
