Hi,

I'm interested in visiting the Kamchatka Peninsular in Sept/Oct 2008. I've noted the recommendations regarding using a tour to access generally in accessible parts.

Can anyone recommend a company ? I'd be particularly keen on one that is maybe a bit more personable and informal. It would also need to have a very high awareness of ecotourism.

Also are there any direct flights from Japan or South Korea or do you have to go via Vladivostok/Moscow.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

the end of August - beginnig of September is the best time to visit Kamchatka for an out of door trip. October - it is almost beginning of winter.

I dare give you advice that first of all you have to know what exactly you would like to see in Kamchatka and what to do there. Trekking, rafting, fly-fishing, explore indigenous culture, helicopter tours to Geysers Valley and Caldera Uzon, diving, climbing volcanoes etc.

Just to learn a little bit more about possible Kamchatka destinations visit web-site with free of charge detailed Kamchatka maps readable for non-Russian speakers and some examples of possible outline itineraries related to the maps.

Re Kamchatka tours providers:

Try to get in touch with Mrs. Valentina Zhukovskaya from ILI Travel Ltd.

Some feedbacks about Valentina Zhukovskaya and ILI Travel you can find at

As I know Andrew Fraser from Switzerland took part in a difficult Kamchatka trekking program organized by ILI Travel
