Gomer, do you not see the irony of people in a country of immigrants being torn apart on the question of immigration? You want to throw away what makes your country truly great.
Those babies (who you complained about above) being born to "illegal immigrants", aside from being as much an American citizen as you, are also the lawyers, doctors, engineers, astronauts, gunsmiths, and surf board repairmen of tomorrow.

After re reading this...Crabman...you are so naive and such an idiot...you probably appreciate LONDONSTAN

Actually, the diversity that exists in London is one of its more appealing features. It isn't perfect, but for the most part everyone gets along. I DO appreciate it. There is something wonderful and exciting about diverse cities like London, New York, Toronto, etc.

What is it about certain Americans that they are trying to make the word "liberal" into a slur. If it hadn't been for liberals, Fire_G, people like you wouldn't be able to vote (because of your gender and perhaps your education), there would still be segregation in your country, the elderly would be abandoned on ice floes (like in Canada)... the list goes on.

The liberalism of yesterday, was not like the liberalism of today. Not too long ago I considered myself a liberal, but then I began disagreeing with more and more of what they were doing. Liberals work just as hard as Right wingers to destroy this country. I cant stand either side!

Actually Crabman if you knew more about american politics you would know that it was the Conservatives who ended Slavery in this country...it was the Republicans who supported the civil rights movements of the 1960s. The democratic party was very much pro segregation. Anyways if you don't live here in the USA or here in Southern California or the South West...you'd never fully understand our immigration issues. Some of my best friends are mexican and this is not the racial issue that the libs want to make us believe it is.

the extremes of any side are bad...unfortunately those in the middle never do what is necessary to make a change. I'm very conservative on a lot of issues...but am very liberal too. I am niether republican nor democrat...and it doesn't matter who is in office...our politicians are all out for the same thing...Greed!

I admit that I don't know much about American politics, but apparently neither do you. Liberal does not equal Democrat. Conservative does not equal Republican. It is a sad fact that the Republican party is currently controlled by a group of religious bigots who are self-proclaimed Conservatives. They are also fond of slapping the "Liberal" label on anyone who thinks differently (or even thinks, for that matter). There were (and are) Republicans who are liberal on social issues, and conservative on economic issues. There are also Democrats who are the same way. The labels really don't mean much (I bet most people are conservative on some things and liberal on others). The labels should be applied to positions on specific issues (not to people or parties). Unfortunately, for some people, it is easier to use a label than to discuss an issue (George Dubya and Nimrod Dick, we know who you are.) Apparently you subscribe to this label nonsense.

most people vote along party lines...and yes the majority of conservatives vote republican and the majority of liberals vote democrat...we are two party systems. The other parties don't even factor. So what you are trying to say Crabman is totally false

I'm a registered independent...I'd vote for whoever I thought would do the best jobs...unfortunately both parties are controlled by the "American Oligarchs"

What a great position... I guess being against everyone is something you are very proud of. We have a 2-party system in this country. It's not perfect, but it is what it is. There are plenty of smart and good people on both sides. You just have to look for them.
