The old city center is a UNESCO World Heritage site and really is lovely. There is a long long stretch of beautiful park on the Volga river which is a glorious walk, not far from city center. There is a riverboat for cruises there. Restaurants are really cheap by Moscow standards. People are pretty nice. Two thumbs up for Yaroslavl.

I agree with all of this, and if you go you will want to visit the old museum inside the ancient fort in the city center. How interesting. Yaroslavl also has the oldest theatre in Russia.

First I wanted to comment on what Cuirassier said. 400k people is a small city?? WOW that seems a lot from the perspective of a person from Tennessee in the USA. I would like to some day visit Russia and Cuirassier you seemed to have the most complete advice. Where would you encourage a person to go who came to visit besides St. Petersburg?? I am a nature loving person any areas you would recommend for that? Also did you really mean you could get a 3 bedroom appartment for $95 a month?? That just seemed awful cheap if true I might have to think about moving . Getting tired of all these liberal politicians we have here ruining our country anyhow lol. Unfortunately I butcher the English language enough trying to learn yalls would probably not prove to be good. If it will print this please email me back some info to joshua.ethan.taylor@gmail.com
