I have a few question about the Trans-Siberian train.
1) I'm living in South Korea right now, so could I get on at Vladivostok and go in the other direction to Moscow?
2) How much does it cost?
3) If I stop in cities along the way, can I just get back on? How often does the train go?

I also have a question about Lake Baikal. I am living in South Korea right now and would like to visit this lake by plane. If I'm coming from Seoul, do you know the closest Russian city I can fly into to get to Lake Baikal?

Please write me back with any information you may have. Thank you!

Irkutsk. I guess s7 airlines should have some asian flights from Irkutsk.

Karin,

1. Yes. Done it myself. Trains leave every second day.
2. Been a while so I can't answer and the price is subject to seasonal change
3. No. You must have tickets for seperate "legs". ie Vlad-Irk on Trans-sib, then a ticket for Irk-Wherever until you get where you want to go.

S7 is Sibir Airlines FYI. They have a website. Irkustk is the closest. Some 70 klm's away from the Lake itself.
