Amaranth, huh? I'm writing that down! lol
I've never heard of that!

That must be so cool to have everything growing close by you!

And what book may I ask?
The only book I've gotten to read with herbal remedies so far is Kevin Trudea's first book.

On to Yorbcbud and surfguy,

Here in central texas we do have whole food stores, but not near the town I live in. My boyfriends father shops at one. He is a health nut and really likes their products so I'm sure it would be a safe bet! It would just be a matter of getting to one, plus they are a little out of my price range. 0.0

The biggest problem I have is how the government cracks down on alternative doctors and medicine. That would be my main reason for leaving the country. I want to move to a place that is very big in alternative medicine, and I ask about Russia because I hear it is, like someone has already brought up. But of course if you have to struggle to get by there, I won't consider it.

And speaking of making bread, it is something that I plan to try soon.
We have a small place in town that is "kind of" a health food store, but the problem is they don't have all the ingredients I would need to make the bread! Most of their stuff is expensive and has to be ordered!

Thank you for your responses! Smile

Many of the ingredients in remedies grow wild in the ditches in my campground. Things like comfrey, bee balm, feverfew, echinacea etc. I have a book on native herbal remedies, and there was pretty much a herbal cure for most everything.
I like to buy Amaranth grain bread. It's the healthiest grain there is.

Feverfew is great for headaches... Wink

Those miracle doctors that the government cracks down on - that's terrible. Yes, if we could only find a great country where voodoo doctors, witch hunters, tea leave readers and astrologists could run wild and cure all people of their illnesses, that would be just wonderful.

Russia is great in that regard. You may not find a read doctor and hospitals suck, but "alternative" medicine is top-notch.

China is the place for you. Famous for it's herbal treatments and alternate medical practices. Cheap as well so you can find the solutions to all your problems in one place.

I don't know much about their mental health system there though. I suspect that is the real treatment you should be chasing up.

China is indeed great - they just executed their chief food inspector.

kotenik clearly needs 3 things:
1) Brain
2) Man
3) Education

Feverfew huh? thank you, because I have been looking for something for headaches.
Is that something you can get at GNC or do you have to go to a whole foods type of store?

I'm amazed by how ignorant and close-minded some people are!

Voo-doo has nothing to do with it. It's about keeping you body clean and healthy, keeping it full of the nutrients it needs so you don't become sick and using things from nature that can help ailments so you don't have to take medications that all have harmful side effects. YOU must be crazy if you have a problem with that. Or crazy just for opening your mouth to put down someone else's beliefs that you can't prove don't work and that you apparently know nothing about since you have brought voodoo, astrologists, and witch hunters into the conversation.

Oddly enough, I have a brain, a man and an education. Maybe you loud mouths need those things?

Wal-Mart carries alot of natural herbs.

No, you don't have to go to Whole Foods to get it. GNC or Wal-Mart.

Actually an even handier way is to strip some willow bark off a tree, and boil it for a bit, drink the tea. Silex is the willow family, and the bark of willow contains Salicylic acid, which is the main ingredient in Aspirin.
