Politics! Russia wants Beredovsky...and the UK is not going to give him up. UK's new Prime Minister is much more Conservative than Tony Blair was and will play hard ball for sure. I'm sure Putin would really like to get Beredovsky before Putin gets out of office. I think that what we see on the surface is definitely not what the truth is.

I wonder if this will affect general tourism.

no...but it might effect peoples minds...like Russians hating Brits and visa versa. I ahve no clue as to this guys' death...who knows who did it and who was behind it...certainly a lot of people have been disapearing in Russia...but what else is new. Then you have Litvenenko whom became Muslim on his death bed...or so was written...and Bederezosky whom funded the Chechnyans...and whom made billions off of the colapse. But then Putin is no different except that he at least is doing what is in the best interest of the state and well his and his associates positions...but isn't this the case in any government. So who knows....it's all politics. Are we directly affected...well that depends...should we care...well that depends...and who is right? Russia or the UK....well who knows. None of us know really what is behind all of this...it's James bond stuff I guess...so wait for the next 007 movie to find out

British politicans like children. They harass Russian government with idiotic childish demands. Our government retaliated in same idiotic way. Heck, in case with Georgia they have shown much more imagination and an ingenuity.

I don't know how it looks from another side of border but when the American or British politician says a words "democracy" or "law" here it is perceived as follows: "All of you untermensch should live and work for the blessing of our people and our law. If your laws and traditions others, this means they wrong".

If you do not have not enough forces to resist to them it is necessary either to lick an big white ass as it Poland, Georgia, Ukraine and some others does or democracy and the law will be brought to you with bombs and marines rescueing you from yourselves as to Iraq or Yugoslavia.

I am surprised as all silently and smoothly between Russia and Germany. Really to have a good-neighbourhood and to not think at all about confrontation it is necessary to arrange bloodshed?

problem is ender...who do you think made Russia what they are today? Do you honestly think that Russia's Oil boom was generated on it it's own...it was the west that went in an revamped it.... This isn't an arguement of who is better or has more power...remember it's all politics and so much of what we see is derived from and translates into other wants, needs etc. It's business as usual and if you want us to do this then you are going to have to do that...Litvenenko translates and probably is used to negotiate or barter for other things. Remember this...Russia would be nothing with out it's oil...nothing! Which is why Putin is working very hard to create a Russia that is not soley locked to it's oil supply. Production of other goods is on the rise. It is interesting to watch it all unfold...and this expelling diplomats is minute and just symbolic

Remove oil and you receive completely different country. Who knows what country it will be? I'm not sure that it will be "nothing", just different.

You seem to like that word a lot. Or, you're just calling your boyfriend?

Just means the British diplomats that are left will have to work harder. I'm sure other like-minded Embassies will be glad to pitch in and do what they can.

Russia should have kicked their whole embassy out, not just four diplomats. Four for four... give me a break. But, hey, at least Putin has the balls to stand up to the West, unlike puppet-president Yeltsin, who, I am sure, would have given Lugovoi up, without a second thought, even if he IS innocent. Putin, at least, showed, that we are not like Georgia, or those little neo-nazi states in the Baltic, who are probably going to, soon, replace their own state flags with those of USA and EU. Fucking traitors they are. Especcially eSStonians. Did you know that in eSStonia, recently, there were Parades held of veterans of their SS, and also their neo-nazi skinheads. They had all this human garbage marching in the streets! Can you believe this?! I mean, my own grandafther, a Red Army officer in the Great War, he saw on TV, when Red Army vets in Tallin were putting flowers to the Bronze Soldier, and those fucking cowards stomped on them and then hid behind thier police! Fucking pathetic, dirty fascist nation of human garbage! The only mistake Red Army made in 1945-1950 was not killing ENOUGH of them, and not sending ENOUGH of them to Siberia! My message to people in US, European Union, Canada, and everywhere in the West: DO NOT SUPPORT ESTONIAN FASCISM! DO NOT APPLAUD THE APARTHEID OF RUSSIAN-SPEAKING PEOPLE IN ESTONIA! FOR GOD'S SAKE, DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR LIES ABOUT THEIR "DEMOCRACY"! ESTONIA IS AN EVIL FASCIST STATE! WHY DO YOU THINK SURVIVORS FROM BABIY YAR CLAIM, THAT MANY OF THEIR TORTURERS AND EXECUTORS SPOKE TO EACH OTHER IN ESTONIAN? ANSWER ME THIS!

I am sorry, but I am just sick of seeing history being rewritten in Europe. If they keep it up, it will soon look like this: "Adolf Hittler was a true Ptriot of free, democratic Europe, who fought to defend it against a horde of Russian Communists". It's just disappointing to see Europe go back to being Nazis, really. And at a time when Russia alone is not strong enough to defeat them like in 1945... just pure cowardness in my opinion...

I don't know if British Commonwealth member country Embassies are legally if not morally obligated to help out the 'mother country' in case of governmental difficulties if 'Mother' requests it. Maybe one of the British posters would know.

LOL

Estonia and more generally Baltics states are fashist/nazi according to you ? What a joke. The biggest amount of Nazi and faschists are located in Russia not in the Baltic states.
No one here give a crap to your messages full of hate, and EU did much more than supporting the Baltic states, EU integrated them as full members.

Now you can put your fucking message deep deep in your fucking ass, ASSHOLE !
