no your anti americanism goes back farther...I know these recent post are in reference to me...but understand too...Fire G and I have had it with the abuse that jojo has been getting unwarranted from Nikir. As far as Spice goes...I generally don't attack him as he usually contributes pretty good info. Useful stuff on Russia...and even Nikir does. Let me refer you to a very good thread...check out the one on the beauty of russia...I started that and posted in it the most recently...notice how many pages it is. |

It's 6 pages long an has quite a few of the same photo (American) repeated, some travel advice for jojo, more crap on America and that's about it. I can't understand why you are expecting accolades.
The point that is being made is that there is far too much about the US in here, it does not help anyone who wanders in looking for the advice that the forum was intended for.
Many people ask questions and then are never heard from again, it would be good to have some of them come back and share their experiences, I suppose they don't because a couple of regulars like Fire_G and Surfguy go out of their way to alienate anyone who has an opinion that they do not share. Fire_G has never been to Russia and therefore has no first hand experiences to share and can only be guided by what she can trawl up on the internet. Any fool can do that so that is not why people come here.
Surfguy spent a couple of weeks in St Petersburg some time ago and well and truly ran out of of any meaningful input around his 10th post.
On the other hand there are contributors both Russian and not, who post interesting and good stuff, but are driven away by the rubbish of Fire_G and Surfguy.
If someone wants to post in Russian they should exercise their right to do so without being selectively howled down by a couple of self centered idiots.
I for one would like to see these two banned for their lack of useful contributions and constant hijacking of threads. |

The U.S needs to invest in the highway infrastructure but no one likes to pay tolls and no one wants to pay more taxes to finance the construction. Bridges are being worked on as fast as available money will allow but it is not enough. |

Well, I suppose I've done my best to share my knowledge of Russian language and culture, for me it is the only reason to be on this forum. If that is nothing, and means absolutely nothing for you and for rest of the people, then that's the way it is, and there's very little for me to do anything about it.
Secondly, surfguy, you should ask your Russian GF to translate the conversation we had with Nikir in the "do you speak Russian thread?" so you can observe my loyality to him. When your GF is ok with the translation, please send her translation to Fire Goddess so that she can calm her self and realise that not every Russian word on this forum is not against her. |

Gen P...you have every thing to offer and my intentions were to get you to think...I have found your posts to be interesting and informative at times and you do make me also ponder the tiopics here. This said...it's the reason why we are all here...I guess...except for a couple who truely do spew out ridicule. I can only react truthfully to anyone if I know where they are coming from...which finally you translated so I can understand you. It's ok that people have different points of view...and it's ok to compete our own...and everything mentioned here is really just rhetoric. But understanding...usually makes things so much better. If we all agreed...or spoke in nice terms and every thing was always so honky dory then how boring is that. It's funny because Russians are always saying how American movies are boring because they always have a happy ending...or people other thaan Americans always trash my country and our Politics but the instant we speak ill of thiers...they get all butt hurt. People say offensive things on this site all the time...and then when someone says something even more offensive they can't handle it. Look...if someone kicks me in my leg...I'm smashing thier face. And if they don't want thier face smash then don't kick in the the leg to begin with. This happens all the time here...and people like fire G and myself are here to play hard ball...and when we see one of our friends like Jojo getting abused time and time again...well then we stick up for her. Surf, you shouldn't think that everyone outside the states is 100% against your country. Don't take everything so black and white, people come from different backgrounds and have different values, I don't know anyone who would be 100%anti-american (sometimes, probably, I am not even all that sure what that word means).
What comes to Fire G and Jo Jo they are not abused all the time. But to be honest, I don't see that smashing one's face or using abusive language in the internet is any solution. When reading Fire G's comments about other people's sexual life it doesn't only depress me, it makes me more cold, more alienated. Her comments certainly don't make me think.
Surf, you have to understand that people have the right to exercise their freedom of speech without being assaulted. Not every disagreement about world politics needs to get against the person. Can't you just let ideas and thought to debate, why does it have to get into personal level? |
