second business visa?

Hi I am planning to stay in Russia for at least 6 months but the process for this visa will take longer time and money than I wish to use at the moment. Basically, I am running out of time to apply for this type of visa.... If I get a 3 month visa now how easy is it to get a second visa? Will it be allowed? Do I need to go through the entire process again? Any info on this would be fantastic! Thanks

A 1 year multi-entry business visa allows you to stay in Russia not more than 90 days per 180 days. To stay there permanently for 6 month you seemingly need a residence permit.

waytorussia Frequent Guest Joined: 17 Mar 2010 Posts: 14	Posted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 5:02 pm    Post subject: Get a 3-month visa, then while you're in Russia, get an invitation for another 3-month visa (original), travel to Estonia, Latvia or Finland (about $140 US return) for a few days and apply for a new visa there (but only right after the old one expired). This is called "visa run" and you can find lots of information about it on this forum. We also have an article in our blog, which has a detailed description on how to get a Russian visa in Riga, the capital of Latvia. There's a guide to Riga on this site as well. However, no one knows for sure, whether "visa run" is possible after 1 June. Similar topic has been discussed in the thread http://www.waytorussia.net/TalkLounge/quote-67305.html#67305 Alberto was going to figure it out. No news yet...
