I have already obtained my Russian visa using an invitation ordered from waytorussia.com. On both my order form for the invitation and my application form for the visa I indicated I would be going to Irkukst and Listvyanka.

Now due to a change in plans I no longer have time to do the trans-Siberian and plan to fly directly to Moscow. This is a pretty significant change of plans and is a completely different point of entry.

Can anyone tell me whether this will cause a problem with immigration/customs officials when I arrive in Moscow. I need to know before I book a flight.

Many thanks for any information!

I would urgently contact the Russian consullate in your country and clarify this. Changing the entry point could well be significant. You are right in not booking travel untill you do this,

I have not experienced any problems when I had a Visa with 'flying to Moscow, visiting Moscow for one month' but instead driving via Zilupe to Smolensk - Moscow and the Golden Ring, and leaving again. the bordercontrol said nothing, just stamping the visa and getting the migration card back.

Has anyone ever had problems?
