| No. The Mods are unfair, and arbitrary, and someone should be able to question their decisions. |

Especially journalists. Victor said himself that you have to watch who you drink with, as I recall. I don't think I'd visit there. Still like the looks of Moscow. Do you think St. Pete would be better, Spice? Don't be biased because you come from there. Which city has better sights? |
My co-worker just came back from st Pete. It was his first trip to Russia and he loved it. He is fascinated with st Pete and won't stop talking about it now. |
I would enjoy it as well, I'm sure. But isn't there more to see in Moscow? Moscow is older than St Pete, isn't it. Should be older architecture, larger buildings, more culture, yes? |

Two of those cities are wonderful. I can't really say that one is better than the other. You must see them both. |

Moscow, in my view, is newer, wealthier and by far uglier than St Petersburg. It's filled with Soviet architecture, even in the center.
Wikipedia is the best source of any information. As I mention in the St Petersburg thread, the St Petersburg page on Wikipedia is now simply excellent with lots of pictures and useful information. Check it out:

Much of Moscow was destroyed during Napoleon's invasion.
However just outside Moscow, the Golden Ring, you will find the older architecture you are talking about although they were not really the center of things (economically and politically at least) back then, and now.
To look for jewels in Moscow, you really have to dig--but they are there. |

Yeah, that's right. I forgot about that. I'm not really up on history that much. I prefer the present. My interest was piqued, when I started seeing the churches that members were posting, especially the one in Chesma. I forget the spelling. Is there a lot of what we call greenspace? Small parks in the city. Places by ponds, where you can picnic with your family? Those really help to attract tourists. I like to sit in a nice place, and just look around. It's annoying to try and see things in a rush. Sometimes tours are a little fast for me. How much of the Kremlin is a tourist allowed to see? |

Oh, most of it. I've been to the Kremlin past December. I just loved it. What a rush of adrenaline I received... |

Well, the most time I can take is a month in the dead of winter. So it would be better for me to go to one this year, and one next. So the choice must be made, as I can't tolerate being rushed when I look at a place. I don't have the freedom to just take off whenever I want, so I want to spend my time wisely. I have made some friends in Moscow, so I will have a definite plus to land and stay, but which city? Hmmmm. I know someone in Nizhni (sp?) Novgorod, as well. What's it like there? She says it's industrial. Auto makers, etc. |

No kidding. The parliament buildings in Ottawa just wouldn't measure up, would they? |

that's because Canada...although beautiful...is pretty boring. Which is why they have been importing people from all parts of the world to liven things up |
