Hello, everybody.
I have a few questions about the registration. I will be traveling to Russia for the first time in about 12 days. I was wandering about the registration if I have to get registered again if I go to a new city. I got my invitation through this site. I'm not totally sure what my plans will be but I am flying into moscow and then spending most of my time in Kursk. However I would like to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg. So do I need to get registered in all of this cities when I'm there? I will be staying at other peoples places most of the time. I may have some help when I get there but I would like to have some sort of plan or idea what is going to happen. Thank you for any help.

You need to register in every city where you are staying for longer than 3 working days. As you're traveling in 12 days, you will come to Russia roughly on the 20th December (that is, Monday). If you stay the first ten days in Moscow and St. Petersburg, our partner company will register your visa for the whole period of your stay (either in Moscow or St. Petersburg), so you won't have problems with passport control when you leave the country. Then suppose you want to go to Kursk, and as there's no representative there to register you, you would need to go to OVIR if you're staying for longer than 3 working days. It's fairly easy in smaller cities, so that's why there's also no rep office -- OVIR is a better choice. However, if you come to Kursk on, say, 30th December, you will stay there two working days, and the rest, 1 to 7 January are official holidays in Russia. That means that officially, if you leave Kursk before or on 7th January you won't need to register there at all! If you stay longer, just register when you arrive and you'll be fine.
