Or is that Tim Hortons that's Canadian? Hmm...

I had Tim Horton's coffee while in Canada last fall. It's soooo good. Laughing Is it true they put nicotine in the coffee to make people crave it or is that just an urban legend? I don't care either way, it's so good!

I heard from a foodstuffs supplier here that they supply some chemical additives for a certain up-market coffee chain. It's what gives the coffee that distinct aroma that one associates with gourmet coffees. He refuses to name the coffee chain though...

Egad!
Well I shouldn't be surprised. Big corporations do lots of nasty things to get folks to get hooked on and to continually buy "food" products.

I love my morning lattes from Starbucks! The weather is getting hot and humid again, I can feel it by the sluggish way I'm feeling in the mornings.
Gives me an excuse to buy one in the mornings, not that I really need an excuse. After a few weeks though, my heartburn kicks in. No headaches for me, just acid indigestion.

There's a coffee bar in Novosibirsk that has VERY similar color scheme & graphics to Starbucks, but a different name. There's also a fast-food chicken place called "Rostik's" -is it also in Moscow or St. Pete? There's a little KFC symbol in a corner of their logo. I think there's some ban on western franchises here, but they seem to be creeping in under disguise...

Rostiks was a Russian chain but they merged with KFC early last year - so now you get the two logos. Good thing as well - the food on the old Rostiks menu was completely inedible.

Nicotine is a highly controlled substance.

The way they handle those chickens before slaughter is awful; but you are right, it is so addictive. You know it is wrong psychically and morally to be eating KFC but the smell of that greasy fried chicken makes you forget about how that chicken you are about to eat was killed and how that chicken is going to clog your arteries. Confused Laughing

Well, I guess KFC is not doing as great as before. Now they have to move somewhere else. Bustards.

I have not had KFC in a year and half. I have resisted the Colonel's temptation...

Well, her heart is in the right place! Animals have no voice, outdated laws that only barely protect them. The KFC chickens. all I have to do while I walk by the one around the corner from me is think how they treat the chickens and I start feeling sick and upset. Works every time!

I have not eaten at a KFC for at least 10 years now. I was hearing about way too many cases of food poisoning from friends who either got it, or heard from a friend who got it. So I made the decision to abstain from KFC no matter how good the food was smelling. Nothing was more sickening than the family who claimed they found maggots in their bucket of chicken from KFC.

Who knows how they are really handled, but it would be the same in the grocery store when buying a whole chicken. Really know one knows how those chickens were handled either. Hey, my grandfather raised chickens and I seen him kill one once, I was terrified. He cut its' head off and it ran around for several minutes headless until it finally died. Yikes! Hell what are we going to do, stop eating chicken. I am not for animal cruelty but we all have to eat. It isn't like we took the teeth and left the carcass to rot in the field somewhere. You can buy chicken now without all the hormones and additives. Besides, you all have never had real KFC. You have to come to Kentucky to get that... Wink
