Is it easy to spot a foreigner in Russia?
What gives it away that a person is not Russian? |

it's extremely easy to spot a foreigner they always look as if everyone is going to rob them (not the vast majority but 50% of foreigners - especially tourists) that looks quite funny... Anyway nobody is surprised (in St.Petersburg and in Moscow) if he see a foreigner..... so don't be afraid |

| Dmitri, here in Canada, Russian wear bright clothes, smile and such, but you still spot them a mile away. It is funny that here, Russians(and other foreigners) are the ones that are more talkative on Metro and English Canadians never/rarely speak on the Metro. So far without them speaking, I have only missed one Russian person that I thought was native Canadian. |

| Russian's wear bright clothes here? I didn't notice that. Personally most people can't tell that I'm Russian and are surprised when I tell them....but maybe that's cause I'm not a fob anymore. |

That's funny I've had that same look before. In Washington DC, Jamaica, and in Newark NJ. |

In my area of the world it's considered rude not to wave at people you pass when traveling country roads. Even when I am 100 miles away drivers in passing cars will wave at each other. oooh! Maybe it's my red hair.
In Washington DC a fellow in front of me dropped his payroll check on the street, he didn't notice. I had to chase him three blocks before he would stop so I could give it back to him.[/quote] |
