Hey all ! Quick question. Part of my trip in November will be spent in Moscow and after doing some research I see the majority of the hotels use third parties for booking. Is this the norm and are these places reliable? Little nervous as I usually book with the hotels themselves to avoid being scammed. If anyone has experience with Moscow-Hotels.net please let me know. Thanks!!

I've used a third party to book a room and didn't have any problems doing so.

Don't worry, you can book directly with the hotel. Just phone them up and reserve a room.

Those websites are just for people who don't speak Russian. The hotels use them because they usually don't have English-speaking staff.

Actually, MOST of the hotels DO have English speaking staff here.

The major advantage to online 3rd party agencies are that most of them offer discounts from the hotel rack rate that you'd get if you booked directly through the hotel.

If you feel more comfortable going direct, by all means, I think all the hotels are contactable directly.
