Well, of course... Rolling Eyes unless you like sitting in toilet water. Most females would.

Why did you ask such a weird question? A suggestion Gomer, put away the vodka.

A considerable number of toilets don't have seats. Keeps the leg muscles strong, I guess.

Come spend some time in Eastern Europe and you'll find out what I'm talking about.

I guess I will see for myself when I get there. I guess they don't believe in maintenance in Europe... Confused Don't businesses have bathrooms in buildings or restaurants? Are they without toilet seats as well?

Firstly, I've nothing against toilet seats, they rock. Secondly while in Russia one learns quite quickly the art of climbing on the toilet. Who needs to sit down anyway? Thirdly, I don't visit business places and have absolutely nothing to do with five star hotels. I am regular student bum.

If you don't need to sit down, you don't need a seat. I guess that's why some toilets don't have seats.

Okayeeee, I guess females again as usual never get thought of. This is why I rethink living in the US. Men here (except most in KY) tend to treat women better and certainly there are bathrooms and rest areas where women can use a bathroom without giving herself a charley horse stradling the toilet. I guess that is easier said than done when you men stand up and use the restroom. God forbid if you have any sympathy for the women in this world.... Evil or Very Mad Laughing

Just my opinion... Very Happy

Jojo I agree with you about the toilet seats....they were made for a reason and that is to be comfortable. FYI not all men stand to go to the bathroom. Try standing to pee at 3:00am in the morning with two eyes in one socket and a hangover...it doesn't work. Unless you have a very good housekeeper that is willing to clean the bathroom floor. Brick wall

I agree toilet seats are nice to have but I just wondered about why so many toilets don't have them. If you've ever been balancing yourself precariously on the seat in the squat position and the seat suddenly breaks, well you get the picture. Maybe to prevent such surprises, people go ahead and remove the seat.

Once there was a hostel I stayed in where the toilet wasn't even bolted to the floor. It startled me the first time sitting down on it when rocked back and forth on it's base, then having to brace for the walls. Shocked

Jojo needs to try both the hole in the floor variety, and the older Russian toilets that have a shelf in them so you can view your "deposit" before she launches into too many complaints. Very Happy

I think I will pass, I avoid those types of toilets. I rather go in the woods. Laughing

Honestly, where do they have these types of toilets? I am curious to know who would go in these. Are they that common over the normal toilets?

I cannot imagine being in a dress, pantyhose and heels trying to use those toilets....eeeee!
