| Hello i recently mailed out all my visa requirements on Wednesday. I payed 200$ money order so it would be next business day delivery. I did this all thro RUSCON.org and its now saturday and i still didnt recieve my documents. I sent it first class delievry and i know they got the package Thursday at 2pm. Why would it take so long? If im paying for next business day i should get it by Friday or Saturday at the latest. I think it is B.S. and can you believe they do not have a number to reach them at? ITs ridiculous! |

| I gave them a prepaid courier package so it could be tracked and I could get it sooner. If it gets lost in the mail, you are screwed. |

| 11, 12 and 13 December are official holidays in Russia. Thus, the Russian consulate is closed on these days. Perhaps they would send your documents on Monday, but I think they'll do it only on Tuesday. I think their service says it's 1 business day, not the calendar day. |

Joe, next time send it prepaid post. It is your passport and you do want to track it. If it gets lost you are so screwed. ALWAYS SEND IT VIA COURIER.
What will you do if they lose it the mail? |

| I GOT VISA WOOHOO!!!!! Took a week when i paid for next business day but eh wat ya gonna do. I got the yellow sticker in my passport and a white piece of paper. It also says its valid from 12/28 until 11/02/05. Why is it valid for 1 year? Can i stay in Russia that long with this? Also can i use it to get back there without issuing another Visa??? Also i mailed out 2 pictures with information and there is no picture in my visa. Write back soon!!!! |

Hi,
No photo on Visa is normal since Russia started using the sticker type. The photo is just for their files. Also note that your passport number may be different. In Oz we have a character prefix (mine is L) and a number. For the visa they drop the character and only use the number. When you get your railway tickets they generally only have the numbers associated with your passport printed on them.
You will photocopy the cover, inside personal details and the Visa page before you leave and carry that around. You might need it while your visa is being registered.
Can't answer the entry/exit questions. Maybe scan the Visa page and send a PM to Dmitri/Alice/Vadim and they could answer your query.
Regards

| Ok so should i make a copy of my passport main page (with my picture and all info) Also should i make a copy of Visa and the White Paper stapled to Passport? Its weird on Ruscon.org it said private homestay visa is only for single entry only and up to 30 days but on the Visa itself it says its good until 11/02/05. My birthday is 11/02 so i dunno wat that has to do with the expiration? thanks for your help UsualSuspect, you helped me throughout the whole thing. THANK U ALL. I ordered tickets already 900$ i should get them Monday. Ill leave 12-28 and i wont be back until Jan 17th. THanks alot ill share some stories when i return. HAve a good holiday to all. |

Are you sure you are reading the dates correctly? Most European countries write the dates different than the US. I don't know about Latin America and Canada. In the US, the date is written MM/DD/ YY, whereas in Europe they write the date DD/MM/YY.
11/02/05 probably means Feb 11, 2005, not November 2, 2005. |
