Hello!

I've a few questions concerning the business visa.

I have been to Russia 4times now, and I know the procedures for tourist visas, but my next trip will be different.

I will be going to Russia next year for 4 months to teach English in Moscow. So, in other words, I will need to apply for a 6month single entry business visa. What others documents will I need for it(in comparison with the tourist visa), and also how long does it take to get the invitation? I am planning to be in Moscow sometime in May.

Also, as I will be there for 4months, will I need this HIV test? What does the test entail of, is it just a normal blood test?(it might seem as a very stupid question to some of you, but i have never done an HIV test before)

Do you also know how much approximately a business visa is?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Katie

The documents you need depend on your citizenship and the consulate you'll be applying at. Often the HIV test is the only extra. Processing time for the invitation is 18 days through Way to Russia:

You might be able to get it in 15 days through another company. Processing can only start 45 days before your intended entry date. The invitation costs $150. The application fee will probably be at least $250.

Yes, the HIV test is just a blood test. Then you get a certificate to say you are not HIV positive.

Thanks for your answer Greg, much appreciated!

I'm a british citizen who'll be apllying at consulate in Switzerland.
I will be getting the invitation from the company I'll be working at.

Application fee is the business visa fee right?

The company said we'd start procedures already next month...That seems way to early then to start, if one can only start the process 45days before entering the country.Or maybe they have to wait for an answer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that's why they want to start early?

Also, is it ok to do a blood test say next month?or will they need a more recent test(like a month before going..)

Right, i'd better start saving up some money i think for all this..lol

Seems they have high application fees in Switzerland. For a multiple-entry visa looks like they're charging $460:

Maybe the company can get you a single-entry visa, which would make it cheaper. But I thought all 6 month visas were multiple-entry.

It's best to get the blood test done as close to your application date as possible. A couple of months earlier would be okay though.

Hopefully I can get a single entry business visa also, cuz the cost of this all isn't making me too happy..lol..But i really want to go and teach there, so it'll be ok:)

I'll talk more in detail with my company next month and see what the procedures are and when to really start everything.

Thanks for your help once again!
