Firstly, well done for a great site. Stumbled across it whilst finding out everything Russian and its perfect!
Secondly, can anyone give me any advice on finding the cheapest possible flights from Novosibirsk to Frankfurt, because I'm confused ! I checked with the offices of S7 Siberian Airlines and they quoted me a round trip fare of ˆ728. I thought if I made the same booking via the S7 website buying the ticket via the e-ticket method it would be even cheaper. Shock, horror, it turned out to be ˆ1409 (49315 roubles). How can this be, is there some reason why the price is almost double booking via their website, as with most (all?)other airlines the website fare is always cheaper. Can anyone pleae give me any ideas on the cheapest way to book this flight, or even to get from Novosibirsk to Frankfurt.

Buy a 2 way ticket, it will be much cheaper than a single one.
I tried to check for fun and I have found a 2 ways ticket to Francfort on a french web site for 605 Eur (for the end of september). |

But I think you can find tons of "english speaking" internet flight ticket sellers. |

actually. s7 sells it cheaper on web. Moreover - it is the cheapest aviam the work in novosibirsk. but they have some quota for cheap tickets, so:
1) there is more chance to buy cheap ticket for the flight from mon to fri, not on weekend
2) Cheaper tickets usually available before 1-2 weeks before flight and in the last day
Try to see prices on _different_ dates on http://www.s7.ru/ and you will understand when and why cheap tickets sells. |
