I'm hoping to get a 1 month single-entry tourist visa to Russia from the Russian consulate in Shanghai in China. I believe that they require original documentation for the visa support. If I order my visa support documentation through waytorussia.net, what are the mailing options available, i.e. how long will each take and how much will it cost (on top of the basic fee for the documentation)? I will be in either Kunming or Shanghai to receive the documentation. Thanks!

Jabe: Mailing to China would take about 5 working days and cost about $50 or $60. Invitations are sent by UPS. Though apparently some people have gotten away with faxed or scanned invitations at the Shanghai consulate, so you could try your luck.

Silverstar: The price for the invitation is the same for everyone. If you apply outside your home country you will pay higher application fees than the locals (but not necessarily more than you would pay in your home country).

Thanks for the info, greg222. I used a B&W print-out of a PDF file for my application in Shanghai and it was accepted.

Glad it worked out, Jabe. How recently did you apply? There was supposed to be a new rule that you can't apply for a Russian visa outside your native country. Obviously it's not being enforced everywhere...
