Hi ALL

I received my student visa (today!) for entry to Russia. I leave in 2 days, however, just like everything I've tried to do so far, I've encountered a problem. That is, the Russian Embassy in Australia has kept my HIV and Health certificates, as well as my invitation. They were all original documents. Now I'm not sure if it's normal for them to keep the invitation, but I know that I need those two certificates for when I arrive at the university. The consulate's website specified that they were documents required to be originals, and they did send me back my senior certificate as well as my passport (I applied by mail).

So what is going on here?! What can I do??

They keep your invitation and HIV certificate. You receive your passport with the visa in it, that's the normal procedure.

The HIV certificate is a consular requirement for any visa over 90 days. The fact that you have your visa would be proof that you submitted the certificate with the application.

If the university require a copy you could try and ring the embassy and see if they will fax you one (doubtful) or get another one.

It is a really goof idea to make a copy of everything before you send it off.

Good luck.
