I'm not setting anything off. I'm just asking questions. Is it not plausible, that someone who did, ( or didn't) want to learn english British, or American, would consider said school a good, or bad place?
Buddy, you have to understand that there are people here, who can't wait to leap on what some people say, it's just the way it is. |

true...and really I knew you would and expected you to...because this goes back to a conversation of a few days ago... But yes I will say I am surprised to not see any Canadians or Aussies...because I have run into so many travelers from both these countries on my own journeys. So I am just surprised. And I will say...I would hate to see some Americans go over to Russia and try to teach thier horrible accents. But too in reality these people are not generally looking to do so. Well at least I would think not. Anyways maybe Samantha school should have a banner on WTR? |

But I have to say Stephen B is absolutely right and it is a shame that BC would post what he did. But hey I knew he wouldn't be able to resist |
James, you think too much. I was asking the poster, ( since he was a teacher), to answer the question of American English, or British English. If you think that's a flame, you should examine it more closely. Annnnnnnnnnnyway, I pm'd him, and asked him to post in that other thread. Please don't get nasty, and call names, ok? Relax, it;s just reality. |
Easy...no names were called and not being nasty...I started this thread and I stated a very obvious observation... But Stephen B is right. |

What difference does it make if it's American or Canadian accent? Most Russians still come away speaking with an accent. I have never heard Russians with New York accents or California accents. They sound like my parents when they talk after learning English with an accent. Unless a Russian child attended an English school taught only by Americans will it then have an American accent; what accent? One wouldn't know and who cares as long as that person can communicate in English at the end of their semester. |
Tell me Stephen. How many places in the world have you been, where they say things like Y'all? Very few, I bet. Now, to you, that may not matter, to some it will, depending on what they plan to do in the future. If they are moving to a southern American state, it might be useful. Likewise, what sort of response would a Russian get, if he came to America, and started using words like Petrol, Lorry, etc? I think it does matter to some extent. And that could theoretically be a deciding factor, in what an individual considers a "good" school. IMHO |

| It's good to see that you recognise the need to set certain words in bold for surfguy, you should also consider increasing the font size of the said bold words. Otherwise they could still easily go unnoticed |

| This could indeed be one of those occasions, when a picture is not worth a thousand words. Or even three. |
