This is a video of a Polish man, a new immigrant to Canada, being murdered in Vancouver International Airport, witha Taser, by the RCMP, after he was distraight, because he couldn't find his mother, who was supposed to wait for him at the airport, but was sent home, after officials told her, her son never arrived. He spend almost 10 hours at the airport, at which point he became distraught, and started acting up, threw a computer from a table. That is when the police officer approached him and asked him to calm down, in English. Dziekanski couldn't respond, as he didn't speak English. So they police tasered him, not once, but twice, the second time while whaling on him as he was already on the ground. As a result, this man is now dead, a victim of senseless police brutality. The Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian-Candaian communities are very concerned about this. It is viewed as a racist crime by police, as one of the officers yelled: "He only speaks Russian!", before the second taser jolt". I will say no more, just watch the video.

I saw this on our local news, I thought this was awful. I don't think it is racial, I just think it is pure stupity. I don't understand why it is so hard to communicate, even when you don't know the language. There are people who will help or do their best to understand. This was a Canadian airport? There are lots off Russians and Polish people in Canada, why was it so hard to get someone in a huge airport to speak and help this guy? I don't get it. There were lots of people I saw in LaGuardia Airport in NY that stepped off the plane, did not speak a word of English but managed to get around. I would not have sat in an airport for that long without calling some family. Did he not have a phone number to reach her or even call back where he was from and see if she may have called? Was this guy not thinking and let himself get out of control? Those police new he spoke Russian, so why didn't they find someone to help him? This is very bad. Another woman killed herself at another airport recently. The airport security wisked her to a room and supposedly she killed herself...Reminds me of the movie, "The Terminal".

I hear so many horror stories about airports. I had a man grab my bags and arm once and said he would take me home and proceeded with me in hand to his vehicle and it was not a cab. I yanked my arm away and grabbed my bags and told him that I would knock the **** out of him if he doesn't back off...this was at LaGuardia, Airport.

Yeah, it's sad, and even sadder is that it's not the first time for the RCMP. They like to do stuff like that.

There are way to many Polish people flying on planes. So the Canadian police tries to control the Polish population.

Spice, that was retarded... even for you. Think of Zofia, the grieving mother of Robert before making such dumb comments.

Why would they taser him so quickly? He didn't have a gun or a weapon on him, I don't understand how quickly they reacted. Then that one dumb guy who was saying that he only speaks Russian, so if that was the case get someone who speaks Russian or some Slavic language that can tell him, what's going on? However, we find out that he's not Russian he's Polish they couldn't ask for a passport? The guy would understand if they said the word,"passport", and then clearly they would have a name, a nationality etc...the only one person that got close to him was a lady and you're telling me that these guys were afraid of this man? Crazy! I hope the mother sues those men who, tasered him. I'm sure in Poland it's all over their news.

Sad

Police forces at all levels aren't not properly trained to deal with people that have mental illness/issues. Here in Toronto they were supposed to set up a team to respond just to those sorts of crisis. I remember hearing of one team for our city! Obviously we need a lot more. A lot of police forces need these teams. Mental health issues are on the rise.
