That's what I hate about puritanical America. Although, you can see everything on the premium channels here.

Who's "puritanical"? Not America, that's for sure. Here at home, we have public channel 41 and nudity was shown alot in the evenings until the FCC or FTC (Iguess that is right) decides to pull the plug and fine the station..it is back on now, but I know the station was in some deep doo doo for that...I watched it, and if anyone here said they didn't, then they are liars...hehehehe...  Though, I think kids should be protected from uncensored TV programs as much as they can. Kids don't need to be exposed to nudity or porno on TV, some morals should be left the way they are...Spicey, you really need to get out of NY and visit the rest of the country. You are American now...you don't live in Russia anymore...you should go visit other states and reeeally see what goes on.

JoJo, I gotta agree with Spice on this. America tends be one of the most "puritanical" countries that I have visited (not counting some Middle Eastern countries). Compared to most of Europe, you guys are a bunch of prudes. Your statement about the FCC pretty much confirms this. Violence is ok. Nudity and sex - no way. Sort of strange values.
Probably goes a long way to explaining surfguy's continual hang up about naked women.

you may be right. but it should be in private and definitely not in public or TV. And that too she has to be your partner. when you see rest of the women you should treat them like how you see your sister. |

It's the British background, Victorian values.
Mind you, the Brits are pretty racy now but 200 plus years ago, good god, don't show your ankles!!!!
Canada has a similiar mentality, as we are still a British colony, no matter what Constitution anyone signs. LOL

I agree with you, YG. It's from the Puritans that came here in 1633, however, I find that the British people in general are the prudes, whereas, Americans are very outgoing socially. Our traditions are from the British and are conservative in nature, however, Americans are fun, open, educated and we enjoy life. Yes Crabman, the FCC is strict with nudity on public television but who cares. At least our weather is not gloomy and damp most of the year and we have nice teeth too Something about the English and their teeth...instead of creating shows that have nudity in them they need to make more commercials regarding dental care.

I know you claim to be in your thirties and to be an ex-GI-Joe-semper-fi-rifle-totin-Marine, but is this true? Have you ever really known or been with a woman? (I mean really, not just chatting online) Your whole attitude towards women is positively puerile (look it up). When you are past puberty, you will learn that women are more than just a "bra cup size" and can be described in more dimensions than just "hot" or "not hot". I kinda find you embarrassing sometimes. It's like you are trying too hard to be a man. |
