I have seen women in Moscow wearing high heels while walking on ice covered sidewalks in February. I wondered if their feet were cold.

Too much experience unfortunately.

Jo Jo, Face it the western cultural is self rotting situation. Feminist although not completely wrong have left a vacuum at home when they left to go to work. Is it their fault ? No, but there is no one home and nobody what to have a family anymore or just two children then back to work to afford an over consumption lifestyle.

Feminine, well have you been to Russia? I think not. many of these ladies will suffer greatly in order to look more beautiful in crap that Marquis De sade created for Women's fashion. There is a 100m race in in high heels, let see an American lady try that. JO JO, I am not looks , but I am talking feminine. Anyone has been to Russia will agree with me.

I don't agree with you...sorry....especially when abortion is a common practice among Russian women right now. A race doesn't make a woman more feminine...I can see you guys don't know women at all..In my town you rarely see tennis shoes on women, they all wear dresses most of the time and heels.

Indeed it doesn't. Cultural characteristics do though. Clothing has little to do with it. It's more to do with grace, refinement, etc.

Before throwing tantrums, note that the above is a general comment which is not directed at any specific race/nationality.

Valentina, a woman I met in Moscow, was an excellent cook and she did use sour cream or mayonaise frequently and the food tasted great. Some Russian women enjoy cooking more than other women.

My God I believed we were living in modern times but it appears that we are not. Given that, most men have nothing beter to do with themselves than try to analyse or laugh at a women who dare to wear heeled shoes in the winter time. Do these men not know that heeled shoes for women, were invented by a man who believed that they made women's legs more sexy and women, have been tricked via clever advertising to wear these kind of shoes. Talk about inequality of the genders and treating women like a second class subject and this also applies to those who try to analyse if Russian women are 'evil gold diggers' or nice girls who will obey the man.

As far as what to expect if she is not a gold digger. I know from my own personal experiences that my fiance is looking for a companion, what we in the US consider old fashioned (the family comes first) is normal for her. Unlike most American women in general who compete against each other for everything (money, assets, clothes) their value of "self worth" is a successful and happy family.

Russian women in general are sort of reserved to strangers when first meeting (whether it be in person or e-mail) but if the connection is there they will quickly warm up to you. There is also just the instance that she is shy and doesn't want to make the mistake of saying the wrong thing. If this is the case just make her feel comfortable, secure, and believe that if she makes a mistake you will help her without making her feel smaller than you. Keep this mentallity and you will do fine:

You are equals, and offer nothing but understanding, cooperation, and support for each other.

I am really confused by these complicated russian women. From a website http://www.womenrussia.com/faq.htm#friend
"if you don't feel ready for starting a long term relationship right now, you may try to start with friendship. Beware though, that a lady can accept somebody else's offer, even if she really likes you, just because she is not sure about your intentions." Is that true? What does it really mean?

1) Does that meant she doesn't understands and all that is we have to understand her?
2) Is that quiet normal for Russian women to leave the loved one and go for other guy just they have intention to marry?
3) Is cohabition normal in Russia like other western Europeans?
4) Is kissing/ holding hands or showing love/affection is a fury thing in Russia?

Paul, a funny, way-over-the-top analyses Smile Yet, I hope the Russian version of "Married with Children" will be franchised very soon! Great idea!
I'm sure it will be a winner! Very Happy An Italian or Greek version would be pretty cool too.

It appears you have no idea about Russian women and their clothes..Have you been to a Church service where all the young Russian women come in with mini skirts, thigh high boots with stiletto heels? They are told immediately by the old women to get out. Have you ever been behind these women kissing an icon? They walk away and their lipstick is left all over the icon. It's disgusting and rude. Some have class, however, the majority look like clowns. I don't know, maybe some of these women think that being a woman you must wear tons of makeup and balance yourself on heels. Shocked It's a reality...maybe you like a cheap looking women in cheap makeup and heels. Confused
