Well that's an obvious thing. Communism takes away the huge gap between rich and poor. Your statement about "some" Americans is accurate. Surfguy wondered how many of us had cars up here. Do you ever watch " Talking to Americans", with Rick Mercer? That's some funny stuff. Laughing The economists up here are starting to say that we can survive an American recession, because we've been making more efforts to drum up foreign trade. I see that our dollar is taking off again. There'll probably be another adjustment soon to interest rates.

Mr Spice, how is it American way? First of all many things are naturally the same, because until the Revolution, we were the same state (except Quebec), but the USA is like the child that got pissed off and left home on its own and Canada got its blessing from the parents.
The difference can be seen in its motto.
USA -Life Liberty and pursuit of happiness
Canada - Peace, Order and good government.

It is like comparing Ukrainians and Russians or Australians and Kiwis. Until you really know them, you can never understand the differences plus even in the USA, there is such regional differences

You have not northern native reserves have you?
Many of them make a Russian village life look like a dream.

Paul, have you been to a reserve lately? They are all rich. Well, there are one or two in Ontario, but the government coughed up the dough to fix them. In BC, there are no poor Indian bands. They are making a fortune through settling land claims. The natives are living good here. They have substance issues, but so do us palefaces.

The official Motto of the United States of America is "In God We Trust"
The official Motto of Canada is "A Mari Usque Ad Mare" which means "From Sea to Sea"

But you are correct; the difference between the US and canada can be seen in their national Mottos.

It is the declaration what government is suppose to operate. Governments repsponsibility to its people.

The declaration of independence is only partially about how a government is supposed to operate, the Declaration of Independence was a document telling King Henry to F#$% Off, because we didn't like soldiers busting into our homes, our property being taken away, kangaroo courts where people did not get a fair trial, and of course the King using taxation as a tool to try to force obediance from America, by making us complete serveants of England... all things that Canada was willing to put up with. (And to be fair, only one third of American's wanted to declare independence, while one third wanted to stay a part of England, and one third did not care.)

The real document that says how government should be run and it's responsibilities to the people is the US Constitution, and the Preamble sums up the constitution pretty nicely.

And it paid off in the long run, I understand. Britain has, since losing its US colony, always cherished Canada, it last Dominion in North American. It has always protected Canada, helped with money, everything. Basically, we (Canada) became like a favorite child and you, America, were the runaway outcast, not even welcome in the family any more. Why do you say that it paid off in the long run? Relations with Great Britain and the US are great. And the UK gives more money to the US then they do to Canada... Have you ever heard the story of the Prodigal son? Well the moral of the story was that the son that ran and came back was the son the father loved more Mr. Green
