Yes, awful processor. I have to get a new laptop soon and it will NOT have a celeron processor. Big mistake. |

Well, tomorrow is a big day. I'm going to get my computer. I will let you know what I came up with. I need it for Monday, so I do have to get it tomorrow for sure. |

Well, tomorrow is a big day. I'm going to get my computer. I will let you know what I came up with. I need it for Monday, so I do have to get it tomorrow for sure. |
I hope you get the one you want. Get one with alot of Ram in it, so you can watch movies off of memocast and lots of space to download music, photos..ect. |

Oh! so, with lot of RAM you can store lot of music and photos. New finding. I thought its the Hard drive to store something offline.
what RAM is it? |

You need enough RAM to actually be able to watch movies. Some of these newer movies you need enough RAM to watch on your laptop or listen to music.
Celeron processor is very slow compared to a Pentium...just avoid a Celeron. |

Yes, ram is really the most critical component - imho.
You can almost always add more ram to your system and prices are coming down down down. I recently added 4 gigs of ram to my Macbook and I think I paid $150 for it. Not bad.
While some people will argue, I think a mimimum of 2 gigs for Vista or a Mac is the bare minimum. And go more if you can.

In addition to more RAM, it needs to have a high frequency RAM in accordance to the mother board. now adays a 2GB 800MHz RAM is available for less than 76$. Also the motheboard FSB should be 800Mhz. At the last the OS should be tuned accordingly. Pentium & celeron processor are differed by amount of L2 cache. now adays Intel Quad core processor with more than 4MB L2 cache will do good.
For listening music basic hardware itself is sufficient.
Hi danbrew, I think you are using Mac OSx, how about PANTHER? good to see that you are using MAC, MAC is THE BEST in all terms.
to everybody, don't go for VISTA, right now its not complete. for home use windows xp home version is enough. |
