Ok...just say hello nice to meet you and they will all understand you...trust me they will be very polite...in fact ask them what to say and they will appreciate that you are interested, trying, and wanting to meet them. I have found the Ukrainians to be very understanding and helpful...seriously the ones I have interacted with have all been very good to me. And you will be fine...no worries

Nope! Silenced
Как - two letters " K" are the same letters.
Believe me... Cool

Are we talking about pronunciation, i.e. sounds, or transliteration of letters in other alphabet? Is it somehow different from the word 'просьба', where, I believe, is no sound 's' either?

It can be hard because Engish pronounciation treat almost each letter as a diphtong that is non-existent in Russian, and have no marks to distinguish palatalized consonants. And that of them that look like English counterparts ( d t n sh ch ) just look like.

He cannot say Dobryj Vecher. Doo-----bree-----vee----cheer.

дубривичир? totally wrong. -ый ending ? impossible in English.

So better is to spend 20 minutes on one of { IPA | Russian ALphabet | ... } articles on some respectable source or... do not give a damn and say anything resembling required sound sequence, just paying attetion so that consonants are where they are supposed to be and let the vowels be.

This is what I was saying, so I did my best. Don't be so sarcastic about it. Some of us were trying to help. I know the consonants and you could have left out "shit" for bl, you could have used the word "pig" instead. I know the Russian alphabet like the back of my hand now. I can read russian very well.

Why do you continue to put up such ridiculous arguments to people who know much more than you about the subject?

Both Spice and myself wrote simple words, while not 100% accurately transliterated, are easy to understand and would pass the pronounciation test. What you wrote is utter garbage.
when vox 16 tries to explain to you he is accused of being sarcastic and has a word that you don't care for criticised. Grow up and start thinking like an adult.

When you go to Russia I would love to be an unseen observer of your antics while trying to make yourself understood.

I am an adult and I wasn't being criticizing. I don't think he would have understood yours and spiceys pronounciation at all. I was trying to put it in English the best way possible that he as an American would have understood. You shouldn't be so insulting to me when all I do is try to help. I am not insulting you.

Go to Russia and watch, you will see how well I do.

You were in fact being critical, as usual when someone doesn't agree with you.

Here is one for you: Капризная дура.

Don't forget to roll your r's and do your yays, while you are "sounding it out." Do it while looking into the mirror, so that you are looking at the subject. Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes

Maybe I was being critical, but I get alot of it too especially when I don't deserve it and I don't see you saying anything ever in my defense. I don't care though this is a forum and it is mean't to have disagreements. I am usually not the one who starts it. I am on the sideline as ususal. I am just the stupid little silly whimsical or foolish woman on this forum as you said above.
