007India I am having a problem with continuity in this thread.
You stated not so long back that Vista was to be left alone. Suddenly it seems to be perfectly ok. Can you elaborate please.

You can get laptops without it and I would advise it. Vista has problems and it was not ready to put out for the publics use. There are flaws in it. Just like when Service Pack first came out, it had flaws that would disable your system or not run right. You can download patches from microsoft to fix those problems though. |

All I can say is, that in the course of the last 12 months, I have bought 2 laptops with Vista home premium, and that they happily get along with the other computers in the house, including the main one, which is still running XP pro.
None of them are HP though. |

I have a HP. I don't really care for the HP, but if you have problems with your laptop, HP will fix it for nothing if you keep the warranty on it. You may not have any problems with Vista. It depends on what you are doing in your computer too or what you are downloading. Some security programs may not run with your Vista. It may show up later when there are new updates to download. That is when it gets into problems. |

I have been with Hp for a long time its good. lucky if its a compaq make.
you can't own a CompaqHp laptop without a windows OS.
yes, again for vista, it depends on how you use it. if the applications are fixed then it might be fine. also you should turn off automatic updates. Even i will format the hard drive which has vista. Installed a windows xp home version. downloaded the drivers separately and installed them. Its fine. |
