Those were men's ideas of perfect women back in the 40's and 50's. Women didn't complain even when their husbands were poking the next door neighbor. Very Happy Honestly that was a good life for women back in the 40's and 50's. Different life then.

Good life? 'ya sure about that?

June Cleaver, maybe.

Linda Lovelace? Hardly. Ms. Boreman herself was said to have greatly regretted her younger days.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

She became lesbian, but most women who becomes whores or sluts regret this part of their life. But that is the expectation of many men visit Russia is that they are looking for the Madonna/Whore wife.

But the woman expect the Rockstar 's wife life.
Marriage Agencies and other bullshit outlets promote this.
Unfortuately many men are scammed and women find horrible men or even worse become prostitution.
If it is too good to be true, it is too good to be true

God, that's a bit harsh, sound like some kind of movie script. Become prostitutes? why don't they just come back?
I don't know girls you are talking about obviously but my guess is that they are not from St. Petes, Moscow or any big city. People in big cities live much better life now then in some other countries and for instance i know many russian expats who come back to work in Moscow after awhile because they are offered much better money and lifestyle.
At the same time i know many expats in St.Petes from like New Zealand, Oz (I know one America guy who lived in Russia for 20 years now!) etc and they are really enjoying their life there so you know not everyone wants to live abroad. I agree some people used to have this stereotype that there are golden rivers flowing abroad but that was like 20 years ago, most people now can afford going abroad and see for themselves how other people live and like my friend say "i prefer working and living in russia while going on holidays abroad".
I agree that there are girls that are very consuming. I met one belorussian girl in the pub and we started talking, after 5 minutes of chit-chat she informed me how much money her fiancée paid for her visa and how much money she earns in the nearby shop and how she is happy. For me (and for most of the girls i know) it's unacceptable to make a man pay for YOUR visa if you are both in relationships, surely he has also paid for his when he went to visit her in Belorussia. But hey for that guy he was just happy to have her next to him (by the way he wasn't old and ugly, he was quite good looking actually)

I was refering to June Cleaver's role, on Leave it to Beaver. Many women were like this back then...that was a good life for women who didn't work...too bad I wasn't living in those days...no computers (not saying this is a bad thing), more jobs for men to make good money, better quality of life, not the fast pace as it is now...now women have to work to keep up with everything...women back then did not care or even think about having a big corporate career...their careers were nurses or jobs like that...but not a corporate queen...Alot of women joins "wacks" or whacks during the war, they helped by working in factories and sent goods over seas to help the soldiers during war time...just a world of a difference back then...

I couldn't care about Linda Lovelace...she could have left her husband...this man was just brutal...how many men do you know who are married put their wives in porno? Let me see: greedy, selfish, corrupt, mean, unhonorable, hate women, sees women as money making projects.

Something is wrong mentally when a husband does this to his wife, crazy man...nuts in the head!

I know successful relationships, but they were based on long term companionship and meetings. But I have witness some of the most loveless relationships I have ever seen in my life.

So xxxx true!!!

We must have written tis a zillion time. Relationships that are based on lonely foreign women with low income and bad opportunities of changes for a better life, an richer Western men looking for someone to "wash their feet, and drink the water" - aren't good, healthy loving relationships. That's humiliation, slavery, rape ... whatever negative word you can find.
NO Russian women is saved by being imported to a Western country just to be abused in every possible way.

Jo Jo, you never heard of the Stockholm Syndrome in which the capative or abused falls in love with the abuser. My mother worked at batter wife shelter for years. I seen things and heard things that will make you cry including women being chopped in bathtubs and axed to death at their work. these were nice ladies with children and zest for life.

But the amount scammers and goldiggers and just plain bitches who whole person is just to gain material items but screwing over men. I know one ukrainian women who married a Canadian and divorced him in two weeks after she got here and then shacked up with a Russian man with considerable wealth and ask the Canadian for child support and alimony. But Canadians do the same thing to themselves.

I am firm belief that these people do not change and they will be always snakes and weasels. I think we should spray paint these horrible people bright orange to signify that they are shit and so everyone knows.

Misbehaving, not everyone will wear the same colour or styled clothes and when you age, your taste will change. Same for what city you live in. My city is a money making city and that is what I am here for.

I have be honest that I dated a Russian lady in my city and that is what made me interested in the country. After we broke up, I thought if I would find someone similar to her in Russia, but I found everything to be opposite to what I hoped. For my journeys and my experiences, I have become a person that I no longer like to be. I have become Kurtz.

I have heard of the Stockhome Syndrome. I know a women I work with that keeps going back to her husband and when she comes to work she tries to hide the big black eyes all the time with makeup...she is a sweet lady too...what a shame...I went through something like this with my ex-husband, he was more mentally abusive and he hit me once. I took a hike...after 5 years...Women do get tired of the door mat syndrome...and all the other ex's in the marriage....

Axed up at work? What type of places were these women working at? Geeze! That is scary...

Yes, snakes and weaseled women looking for a free ride from men, but that is everywhere and not just in the USA or Russia. Some women will do just about anything for material things. Give up their dignity and shame men, but men can be very harsh to women as well, like we were talking about the human trafficking, those women and children were kidnapped and thrown in a sex trade against their will. I have to say that there are young men out there who are also scamming the rich women into a green card as well. Men like to make money and they don't mind using sex to get what they want, after all they invented prostitution... Very Happy

Do Russian men think Russian women over age 30 are good marriage prospects? Do Russian women over 30 consider themselves as good marriage prospects? Just wondering about the age factor.

I wonder about that as well...I truly hope that the majority of Russian men who do date/have a love relationship with a woman 35 or over (let's say) are in their relationship out of love and not money alone. I hope that the majority are not simply in it for the money. We're talking about women being gold diggers...what about Russian younger men who might be gold diggers...?

I don't see why a woman over the age of 30 would NOT be a good marriage prospect. In many cases, a woman over the age of 30 has a better sense of herself and where she wants to be in life and of knowing what type of man will make her WANT to be with him for life. I know full well that not a whole lot of women are like that, but I do know I'm not alone feeling like that. In my opinion, it has to do more (and should have to do more with) with the person's personality and potential to be a caring, stable, there for the longhaul, partner for life.

I'd like to know of reasons why a woman over 30 would NOT be a good marriage prospect...

I agree on the snakes/weasels. I know I'm an optimist and all, and I really don't think there's anything wrong about being optimistic about life in general, but when I think about stuff like this, I keep asking myself Why in the he** do people consitently pull crap like that? All it does is hurt others...it just means that women/men have to be "on guard" all the time with their boyfriend/girlfrien in an attempt to NOT have their hearts broken you know. It just is such a shame and it just reminds me that even though I may feel like I'm on cloud nine with my man, I still have to be "on guard" and keep thinking in the back of my mind that maybe, just maybe, I'm being fooled. Sad

Yes, women over 30 would make a good marriage prospect. Better wives...still young, but better thinkers, more stable, mature......Most men think anything past 25 is over...that is why there are alot of men still single and living with mama. Very Happy

we'll lock this one too. this thread isn't going anywhere.

prostitution is bad. we get it.
pimping is bad. we get it.
patronizing either is also bad and hurts everyone involved. we get it.
