What a load of crap you spew out.
You say that women look for men outside of Russia, because they cheat on their wives, then you say your friend was cheated on by an American. But hey saying that there is too many men that cheat is compliment to your fellow countrymen. Hello Contradiction!!!
Did you count them yourselves also? I think I will take government stats.
So it is marry a foreigner or dir if you are over 30 years old. So once Russian man turns 30, he dies and leaving a ratio of 9 women to 1 man.
That is hilarious.
Fact is that they are just taking the easy route. THere is many nice men in your country, but as the expression says, "The grass is greener on the other side". Same can be said with the BS here where the man over 45 goes over there to find himself a wife, while I know many good women here. It is not the fact that these relationships should not exist between countries, but the fact is that is based lies and proproganda. Ask some of the woman here on this forum that they know lots of good ladies in the age you described. But when it is just easy to just go find one overseas and bad mouthing your own women in your country, then I have an issue.
Majority of the Russian men I have met are pretty good fellows, well educated, and polite.
It is too easy to say that all American women are fat bitch and travel overseas to find a Russian woman that says that all Russian men are cheating lazy drunks. I am not saying marriages should not exist between these countries, but I am saying that both people are quick to comdemn the opposite sex for all the troubles. I think it is lame excuse to look for an easy way out to a younger bride or better life financially. |

Superficial? We are not the ones who wear tons of make up. We are not the ones who purchase tons of perfumes and clothes and such. Majority of plastic surgery,Women. If you put a mirror in a store, every women in Russia will walk by and to see how they look. Men will just trudge by. Men encourage this by wowing dimbits like Paris Hilton. But then I hear how much women hate cheaters, but yet they will adore cheaters like Beckham.
The whole problem is that we lie to ourselves what is and what we actually want. This is what this marriage agency business is built on. |

Moved to Talk Lounge as the discussion has nothing to do with Russian visas and is of no use to anyone looking for information on them.
Would all participants please make an effort to stick largely to topic in threads other than Talk Lounge. |

Daria, when she uses data that is 20 years old that marriage agencies produce, then the stereotype sticks.
Love can exist between people who truly care about each other from different countries. Just look at Dmitri (the owner of this site ) and his wife. there are many successful marriages.
But long distance relationships are generally bad, add cultural difference, then language difference, then age, then financial, and more
Eta pizdets.
When someone has decided to find a wife or husband of certainty nationality, then it is wrong. YOur heart should be open to all in your life. The person of your dreams maybe sitting next to you on the bus, so why should one person sit and say that they will find themselves a Russian bride or American husband. |

I agree to a certain point, but there are so many great people in this world, I don't put limits on to where I will meet my next husband, (hopefully the right one next time).
I am in the middle of the road now about those Russian marriage agencies. They could be legit or a scam. Of course those Russian women are going to try an find the perfect Western man...that is BS of course..western men drink too. I bet if you did a survey on western men coming to Russia to meet their wife, I bet they are heavy drinkers, because they are not missioneries coming to the agency..."There's a dime a dozen" in America....but it could be good...love may happen. It is open in the air on that..I don't see that a culture difference would get in the way of that because when you go to a specific place to look then that is what you wanted in the beginning..if a man joins a site for a Russian bride then he was interested in meeting that person for marriage...that was the preference he chose so he is open to the difference. Opposites Attract! It could be real love there...I don't blame those Russian girls for looking. The legit ones of course...
I think my friend was at a Russian agency, because she gave me a song and dance about them...she though they were the best thing for Russian women. She told me that there are not enough Russian men and the ones who are single are "on the vodka".
I have a quote from Winston Churchill that I live by..this is for the Russian women...this is sorta the same thing when looking for a man...
"It's not enough that we do our best; sometimes we have to do what's required". |

It is not just a scam for western men, but Russian women also
On average, the likelihood that man will visit a woman who writes is 3% that if she is without children and is young.
So the women who are looking to find a good man are usually over 30 with children. It is general that most Russian men are not appreciative of taking over another man's kids.
Most young ones just want to party and have fun, like most young girls, so they accept letters and gifts and money or even a visit or two.
I know professional tourist who will go with a Western man to any country for a trip. Entertain him and go back, then look for another.
I know Western men who whole person is to see how many young women they can sleep with and treat the girls as commodity.
I knew one man who was dating 3 at the same time and he drank over 40 oz of vodka a day that these girls had to pick him out of the drunk tank
YOu do not know who you will meet until you have been with them for awhile. Letters and internet is no substitution from real life and you get that when you really see a person everyday. |

Hello everyone,
I read some more stories about marrying in Moscow at ZAGS. My fiancee and I were wondering if we could skip the ceremonies, picture taking and all that crap --we just want to make this marriage official. Seeing as she is from Chita and she'll be traveling alone to Moscow, there won't be anyone at our ceremony anyway...and more importantly we want to save money. |

Yes I got married in ZAGS, as a British citizen marrying a moscowvite, Just me, my wife and my 8 year old son. No big deals, but some photographs for the family at home and the USA. First go to your Embassy in Moscow to get through the formalitie. Sorry I don't know your nationality so I can't give you any links. |

That's really great to hear! I read some personal experiences mentioning going the whole mile with banquet and all. What a waste of money (in our opinion)!
I am Canadian. I think I have all the info I need (though a little confusing because some info contradict another) but it wouldn't hurt to have more if you could provide some |

I just found out some more news about marrying in Russia...according to this site: http://www.passportmagazine.ru/article/352/ I can only marry my Russian girlfriend at a ZAGS within her city of residence.
"The ZAGS office where you can get married must be in the district of your fiance’s permanent residence."
She lives in Chita. So please tell me this is not the case. |
