to the lesbians - you'll be just fine as I assume you won't be having sex with each other on Tverskaya? You can get away with lightly kissing each other a heck of a lot easier than two men can get away with kissing each other. I suspect, but really can't prove, that the average Russian would be much more tolerant of two girls that might love each other vs. two men that love one another.

to the woman who wants to shave my wife tells me that you can easily carry a small can of low foam gel that will last for weeks. pack a can or two in your suitcase is what she says.

It happens rarely.

In Serbia, we kiss three times. It's the norm. I know Russia isn't Serbia, but I imagined some form of kiss was normal. In Italy it's two times on cheeks. And in Manila, depends.
I am talking about friends. Not diplomatic acquaintances.

It seems in Russia norms somewhat different.

There's a chance you and your girlfriend will be propositioned by men looking to engage in 'threesome' activity of a type.

That's funny. But it's not a proposition peculiar to Russian men.Smile I think the best would just to remain in the shadows. Sometimes it just makes me feel tired.

Thanks for the answers. Are there no lesbian/bisexual Russian women here in this forum? No one seemed to answer me.

Ten years ago when I was working in PAris, we had some business with Belarus so my company recruited 2 belarussians, and the first year they spent here was quite a cultural shock...including the Gay pride LOL
I remember their reaction, they couldn't understand why the French gov could authorize such disgusting demonstration (well, it is true that a lot of them were showing their ass carrying a sign in which it was written how proud they were to be gay...).

The same guy told me : "what will be the next one ? the faschist pride ?" Laughing Laughing

Well, I spoke to one girl, and she acknowledged that lesbianism is normal in women. So I think I tend to believe you. She had questions about the gay marriage, but not about lesbian practices. She had some experience herself, although of course I wouldn't say in which circumstances.

Specifically, I ask about Moscow and St Petersburg, because I don't plan on staying in smaller cities.

PS: No lesbian Russians in this forum, though, huh? Smile I was hoping someone would talk to me about lesbian hang outs and stuff.

Oh, thanks for the tip. But is a gay man, not a gay woman. It's not necessarily the same circle, I think. You don't see any gay men in lesbian bars, do you? Laughing

I do not go to gay bars either Lesbian or male.
Talk to Bryanboy on his website and he is quite familiar with what you ask.
Many of them to hang out together. There is a list of gay bars in Moscow and SPB on this site. Bryanboy reviewed them also. He went twice to Russia. There are other gay people who have been here and told their story.
